This was meant to replace a broken analog wall clock. I went with it because of the large digits and decided that digital would be good for a change. Setup was easy. I inserted AAA batteries because I wanted backup power in case the main power source got disrupted. The mount points are standard and made for a flush mount with the wall. Basically, your out of box experience will be smooth. I like the large digits; they made it easy to read from across the room. This was also aided by the brightness of the display - I chose the brightest setting. Playing around with the display modes, I settled on the time/date/temperature option. That made it a bit more interesting and I find myself glancing at it more often. What I didnt like was the placement of the buttons - at the back as opposed to the top. When mounted on the wall, the buttons cannot be reached and that requires dismounting the clock in order to change settings. Another issue is the date display. It can be confusing and mistaken for the time because of how it is presented. A forward slash would have made it easier (i.e 10/16 and NOT 10.16). The clock gets a pass and is solid as is. I like it for the display size mostly and decided to move it from basement to bedroom. The dimmest display setting was too bright in the dark room so I covered it with a dark film. Now I can easily know date, time and temp as I lay awake counting sheep. With the stated issues sorted out, it will easily earn that fifth star.

The battery power for this clock is for backup of settings. The clock is corded with a USB type plug, and you will need to plug it into USB portal or use an adapter for a wall outlet. If you only have batteries and don't use the cord it will hold the information, but the screen will go on and off intermittently. Clock looks nice. The numbers are large and easy to read from a distance. It can be set for standard time or military time. Illumination is good. Display can be set to stay on time/date OR set to alternate through time/date/temperature. The colons in the middle of the time blink continually. The numbers and date do not blink. We ordered the white LED display clock, and the digits have a very slight blueish to them. The days of the week illuminate in orange. The clock is designed with a base wide enough to sit upright on a table while remaining a slim sleek design. Alternatively, there are "holes" on the back for hanging on the wall. There are two, one each side, instead of one at the center. If you use a level to put your tacks or nails in the wall, you know it will be straight and because of the two holes in back design you will not have to worry about the clock tipping and always having to fix it. Especially nice given that it is corded and could be bumped. This would be a useful clock if you have it at a distance/large room or in a house where someone has limited vision. (It also works up close on a desk). Really easy to read.

I got a couple of these clocks. In one room, I'm able to plug into power and it works like a charm - keeps accurate time, very easy to read and you can see what day of the week it is if you get disoriented. In the second room, I mounted it high on the wall and don't want to run a wire or hook up a new outlet there so I have it running on rechargeable AA's. So far that is running great - but the time only comes on if it senses you there (by sound). The time then turns on for a few seconds and turns off again conserving power. It's not optimal but it beats putting in electric. I would not use battery power if that room has a constant stream of people coming in and out - as it probably will run out of juice when it has to turn on and off often.

The contrast between the green/white numbers and letters and deep black background is excellent. The LED numbers are bright and easy to read. Options include the time, day of the week, month, year, and alarms. There is also a temperature gauge. You choose the display features. For example, ours is set to show time and days of the week. The clock is lightweight and small enough for travel. Setting up the clock is fairly easy, but not necessarily intuitive. Several steps are required to get it the way you want. Fortunately, once set up you won’t have to mess with it. Included in the shipping box is an instruction sheet. I suggest you save it. The clock has a battery backup and if it is not plugged in the screen goes blank. To wake the clock you clap your hands. The clock awakes and stays on for about 8 to 10 seconds. This feature makes batteries last longer and is handy for sleeping if you don’t like the glare of the clock. The power cord plugs into the back of the clock and that is where all control buttons are located. The front of the clock has a nice modern look with rounded edges. It can be hung on a wall or placed on a table. My only two gripes about this clock are that the cord is short and it does not come with a charging block. I wanted to put it on a table next to our guest room bed and keep the clock on. However, I could not because the cord was too short to reach the plug outlet behind the backboard. Other than these minor gripes I really like this clock. It is attractive and easy to see during day or night. It has excellent features. Therefore, it receives four stars from this VINE reviewer.

This is my third clock purchase recently... The last two are the larger wall clock with white text and I wanted to see if green text was easier to read. Family member does have some vision problems and I was happy to know that even through this clock was smaller...it was easier to read the time from a further distance. This smaller clock has almost all the same function of the larger clock. You can display just the time, or have it scroll the temperature and date. The only one negative is that clock has a very short custom power cable. I wish they would have made it USB C and be done with it.
