Worked perfect for what I needed it to and and I actually bought two simply because it was two vehicles that the person I needed to track could use. Worked perfectly on both vehicles and that was during the winter with very cold nights and rainy days that lasted sometime for a week. The battery life was great and it lasted as long as i needed to use them without me having to ever remove and let charge and put them back on. One survived a train track inspection truck impact. Hit the car on the back passenger side and where it was mounted right in that area i don't see how it survived. See the water tight box I had purchased with it the GPS locator would not fit in it. So i removed the magnets from the box and using some wrap around velcro combined with JB Weld Steel Reinforced Epoxy I managed to attach the magnets directly to the transmitter. Doing this i had to tape over the charge port and make sure that a plug could plug into the port before it cured. Now i'm sure this avoids the manufactures warranty but I really wasn't worried about that. If that would have come up I would have just purchased another one and went from their. Sometimes time is more valuable than the cost of things and time wasn't on my side so to worry about anything like that was comical to me. I'm about to put service back on one because i have to monitor something else that I need to always know where its at 24/7 if I when I need to know it. Remember installing GPS transmitters on any persons car that's not titled in your name is against federal law. Remove anything that's located on the tracker like stickers or barcodes and keep them in a safe secure place always. So keep that in mind if that's what your thinking about and if you decide it's worth the risk then make sure you keep your mouth shut and install it in a place that's not noticeable even if someone takes it to a mechanic for a break job where it's raised up and could easily be spotted from underground the car. These are lesson learned the hard way. I say that because one of the vehicles had to have a break job and to find the device still would have been hard. I'll say a little more and then that's it. What ever and who ever your going to track write down the tag number and put that in your wallet simply because if you think it's only one silver toyota Camry in your town, well it may be only one in a small town but in the city and say Walmarts parking lot it will be so many that guessing only ends up making you do even more undercover shady crap because you will have to remove it from someone's car that you have no clue who it belongs to. Retrieving one like this always be prepared for guard dogs and take along something that most dogs love. Like bologna, ham lunch meat and if it's a very large dog t-bone steak filet mignon will always work great for these breads. More things to remember : put the clear stickers over the charging port simply to keep the port from getting water damaged because it's not made out of plastic or food grade stainless steel. I preferred to used 3m Super 33+ electrical tape because it's black and once it's attached to something like this it has good waterproof ability and if I ever need more it comes on a roll that around 60 inches long. Still the manufacturers port protection stickers i'm sure work and if I didn't have any of the 3m I would have used those instead. Good battery life and you can't ask for more, support was always good to answer any questions that I had. works in extreme conditions 15 degrees to 105 it never stops from doing its job. holds up to impacts from train track inspection trucks, signal strength is always good even after a impact like that, the price for the service isn't that bad at all. The top of the line fastest update time was 22.00 and some change a month. Can't ask for any better tracker than what you get with the TRAK-4 GPS Tracker 5***** and an A+++ it gets from me. I purchased the Trak-4 GPS tracker (USB). I wanted (1) a basic portable, rechargeable tracker in case my vehicle is stolen and wanted (2) an affordable tracker and service subscription with no contract or activation/cancellation fees. The Trak-4 GPS tracker exceeds my expectations. It is budget friendly and has many more features than just showing the last place a vehicle is parked. It shows intermediate points (GPS) on trips and has an ant-like feature showing little moving cars along recent routes taken. This tracker is simple to use and set up. No app on your phone or laptop – use a shortcut to the webapp on the Trak-4 website to see your history: Report time, GPS, location method, remaining battery life, device temperature. The report history shows the Google photo of the GPS location. The user interface to the webapp is intuitive. The GPS is very accurate down to a particular parking space in a lot. The tracker is easy to charge, and the battery life is robust. There are email and text alerts (for battery life and geofencing). It is very easy to configure virtual geo boundaries where alerts are received if the vehicle crosses the boundary (geofencing). The tracker is plastic, not magnetic, and will require an adhesive/mag kit if the tracker is mounted on metal (or zip ties). Not an issue if the tracker is tucked away in some inconspicuous place. The tracker is about the size of a pack of cigarettes and weighs about 5 or 6 ounces – more than some smaller trackers. Because of its size and weight, the battery life is much longer than smaller trackers. The tracker has no flashing red lights and can be used in covert applications. There is unlimited data which makes it easy to share the tracker location anytime with your contacts (family and friends) – a feature of this tracker. ** Be careful not to discard the very small rectangular endcap that protects the USB port. ** Trak-4 customer service is outstanding. I contacted Trak-4 with several questions and was called on my phone within minutes. I also received a response to a question by email with minutes of sending the email. Customer service is US based (in a South-Central state). There are numerous excellent videos that cover every aspect of the Trak-4 GPS tracker – including where to place the unit and impediments to the GPS signal (such as metal). I recommend the portable Trak-4 GPS (USB) tracker. One year after my purchase of Trak-4: I had a non-urgent issue and question that I submitted to Trak-4 support over a weekend. In the message, it was stated that the matter could be handled the following week. Nonetheless, I received exceptional, responsive support over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday from both Royce and Jason – resolving my issue. Trak-4 support is definitely outstanding!

Great affordable product. Very simple installation. You could hide under car with magnet kit or literally just set it inside a vehicle anywhere to hide it. Have been using for a couple months during a very cold winter with temperatures consistently dropping below freezing and battery still shows 100% from initial charge. I wish lines across map followed streets rather than just making straight lines across map from point A to point B etc. That is only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Offers affordable option updating about every hour for $12.99 or you can upgrade to get a live tracking option. I don't know if that makes map more accurate. My favorite feature is setting geo locations that allow you to receive a text and/or email when the vehicle enters a certain location. Easier to select a location on map and allow it to create its own perimeter, otherwise it's tricky to do manually. Great for tracking a new/teenage driver. It is important to note that as long as you are tracking a vehicle that is registered to you it is totally legal to do so. You can't go wrong with this device
