We bought this to put on our 16 year old's car to monitor his location and driving. We love that there are both a mobile app and a desktop web interface for it that are basically identical. We researched various products and settled on Bouncie and I'm glad we did. I know there are cheaper products but we felt the product, app and features in Bouncie were what we wanted in a product. Our 16 year old made a poor choice of when and where they wanted to drive that was outside of the boundaries that we set (time and area). We were immediately notified. I love that it interfaces with Google Maps but also has a lot of other reporting features such as excessive acceleration, hard braking, etc that and tunable. Bouncie will also tell you their average MPG and notify us when he's getting low on fuel. It monitors the vehicles main things like engine, battery, etc. You plug in the VIN and it loads vehicle information. You can put in the insurance info as well so you always have their insurance info in case of emergency. There are lots of great features and benefits with Bouncie. It even indicates which way the vehicle is facing so you know if they are parked facing the wrong way on the street. It shows you the exact street address of where the vehicle is too, so if something were to happen, it is very easy to located the vehicle and it even has a one click for directions to the vehicle. You also see the trip timeline of how long a trip was. So, there are many great features to this product. It's very easy to setup too. I highly recommend it. ... show more

I purchased three of these for all of my Toyotas (2006, 2012 and 2018). Super easy to plug in, tracks not only car location, but shows battery life, engine condition, your speed, if you brake quickly, etc. You can track your vehicles on your phones and desktop computers. While this unit costs more than other trackers, the monthly fee is less. Fee is $9 a month per unit, or three or more is $7.70 a month. The GPS is accurate. App lets you know about your engine, battery. You can set a car care plan--reminders of services needed for the vehicle. Calculates fuel usage. Tells the maximum speed of the day. Did not expect much from this but have been extremely surprised and happy with its function. This unit send a lot of information: fuel economy, mileage per day, idle time, distance driven, moving speed, overall speed, max speed, driving habits (rapid acceleration, hard braking), travel time... can see daily, weekly or monthly. Great unit. Great app. There is a monthly use fee though ($9), which I was unaware of at the time of purchase. ... show more

This is one of the best purchases we have ever made. it is well worth the money spent on the product and the $ 9 monthly fee. If you have a 16-year-old starting to drive on their own, this is a must for your peace of mind. The Android app works perfectly, and the customer support was answered in seconds on fuel levels after filling up. It is great knowing not only where our teen is traveling but also the vehicle's status. Set-up is super simple, and I like the customization it has built into the app enabling you to fine-tune everything it is monitoring. The best feature of this is the 15-second update and notifications throughout the trip.     • Might Save You From a Murder Charge
Greetings. I bought this for a very particular reason: to be able to prove my whereabouts in the event I am wrongly accused of a crime. This device is wonderful. It provides very detailed routes traced out in Google Earth or Google Maps. Tap anywhere on the route and you will see the exact time you where at that spot. You can place yourself anywhere at any time, with precision. You do not need to have your smartphone with you. The device communicates with cell towers, not with your smartphone via Bluetooth, so if you forget your phone at home or at the office it is not a problem. You can view your routes later, once you regain possession of your phone. The app shows your start and stop times as well as beginning mileage and ending mileage. Since it plugs into your ODB port it records mileage and even knows when you are low on fuel and warns you. You can program geofencing for your children to alert you when they either leave or arrive at a location you input into the software. You can set alerts for hard braking and hard acceleration to see if your kids are "hot dogging" your car and causing premature wear. There is just so much functionality to this thing because it is being fed real-time information from the ODB port. And the monthly subscription fee is very reasonable. I looked into devices like this years ago and the devices themselves and monthly subscription plans were too expensive. Bouncie has crushed these barriers to entry. The average person can now afford this technology. The only thing this device cannot or should not be used for is real-time driving navigation assistance. There is about a 15-second delay in your actual position and position on the map, so if you're looking for an intersection you will drive through it (miss it) because of the delay. Not a problem. Either use a dedicated car GPS from Garmin, Magellan, TomTom, etc, or use Waze or Google Maps as your real-time driving app. Another cool feature is that since it shows your route end location, you can locate your car in the event you forgot where you parked. I had to do this yesterday. Went to a mall and forgot where I parked. Pulled out my smartphone and pulled up the Bouncie app. It indicated on the map where my car was parked. This thing is so accurate it always shows me my EXACT PARKING SPOT +1 left or right, meaning if you pinch zoom while in the satellite map, it will show you the exact parking spot you are in or might err one parking spot to the right or one parking spot to the left. It's absolutely incredible. The unit does not fit tightly into my ODB port and I was afraid it would back itself out and fall to the floor after a few days, so I used a cable tie to wrap around the Bouncie unit and its support mount/bracket. It is now fully secure and will not back out. Recommend at least an 18" cable tie, if it is too long just snip off the excess with scissors. Be well.
