    • GREAT devices, but think about how you will use them before choosing a plan
With the state of air travel today, we only have moderate confidence that our checked bags will actually arrive with us, especially when flying with connecting flights. These devices let us see our bags as we were traveling and verify that they were actually making the same connections as us. The devices themselves are pretty inexpensive - each is sold for $30, and then you own it. Of course, you need a monthly subscription for each device in order to actually track the device. This is where you need to think about the plan you want. We chose the most basic plan - $19.95/month for a 3-minute reporting cycle. I.e., whenever the device is moving, it "phones home" every 3 minutes. Caveats: When not moving, it doesn't report; when underground or in some shielded container and the 3-minute time comes up, it cannot report. So - what we found was that around airports, we would get random points where it was being moved between the aircraft and the terminal. E.g., if the 3-minute time happens while the bag is under the terminal and the bag/tracker is moved in a shipping container into the aircraft before the next 3-minute time, nothing gets reported. For our next trip, we will decrease the report time interval to either 1 minute or even 30 seconds (a few dollars extra per month). This will let us get more real-time information. (For the truly paranoid or fascinated, you can track down to 3-second updates.) For this trip (for a wedding, where we needed 8 days of many changes of clothing) we had to check two large bags. I put one tracker in each bag, plus a third in my carry-on with my computer (we thought we would have 3 checked bags but didn't need the third bag). Tracking the bags at each airport reassured us that everything was working - AND if a bag had gone awry, we would have been able to tell the airline exactly where the bag could be located. You can "subscribe" for a single 30-day period and then terminate until your next trip, or if you are a frequent traveler, you can subscribe to multi-month or annual subscriptions at a reduced rate. Highly recommended in these days of flight delays and cancellations and baggage nightmares. Oh yes - what about using Apple AirTags instead? Apple AirTags require that you have an Apple iPhone. These work with iPhone and Android phones - and we only have Android phones. Plus, the AirTags report through Bluetooth connections, meaning that they need to be fairly close to another Apple Bluetooth device to report their positions. These devices have a built-in GPS and report through cell towers, so as long as the device can pick up some GPS satellites and is within cell range of a tower, it can report back as to its position. BTW - we got this to track our bags, but it can also be used to track your children's driving or to track/recover your car, if stolen. The devices have strong magnetic mounts and can be attached to a vehicle in seconds. You can then see where the vehicle went, and even roughly figure out how fast the vehicle was moving at different times by the distance traveled between updates. If we had these when our son was first driving, we would definitely have been tracking him. For vehicles, you can program a "geo fence" - if the vehicle moves out of the fence, you will get an alert. So - if worried about your car being stolen from work (or airport or other location), you can use this device and program a geo fence around the area where the vehicle should be. If stolen, you will be alerted AND you can tell the police where your vehicle is currently moving or parked. ... show more

    • Excellent product with outstanding customer support.
I can't say enough good things about this device, the optional power adapter and the telephone support from the LandSeaAir US Support folks. I purchased the tracker as well as the optional LandAirSea USB-C Hardwire Power Adapter Cable, specifically available for the 54 USB-C connection. This allowed me to connect the tracker to a 12v car battery, and eliminated any issues with the battery inside the tracker being drained. When the car or boat is idle, not moving, the battery in the GPS tracker sleeps most of the day. It wakes up once every 24 hours to report it's current status, which includes it's location and battery voltage level. Since I have the optional 12V connection, it shows me the voltage coming to the tracker from the 12v battery. The other battery indicator, the one internal to the GPS tracker itself has always reported full. So this works as planned. It's my understanding the internal battery in the tracker will last somewhere between 4 to 6 months in this idle cycle, so I only need be concerned with the large 12v battery it's connected to. So I simply put a trickle charger on the 12v car/boat battery to keep it full. From a support perspective, I've called their 800 number and someone has always picked up. Each time I called support, the person was able to answer my question and provide insight on how this whole system works. This experience alone confirmed I had purchased a great product to protect my stuff. It's 2025, and sadly this type of support is very rare nowadays. I like how the app works on my Android mobile, but I really love and prefer using my desktop and laptop to check on the status and location of the tracker. I signed up for the subscription, and took advantage of the discount for buying a longer term for 50% off. The tracking page shows a Google Map with "a pin" where the tracker is sitting idle. Overlaid on the map is a small status box that shows the device is 'stopped", the rough street address, a "wired" indicator showing it's connected to a 12v battery and the voltage the GPS is receiving from it, and how strong the signal is to the satellite (7 in this case), and signal strenth to local cell phone towers (4 bars in this case). This whole solution not only works great, but it gives me peace of mind. Highly recommend this if you need GPS tracking. ... show more

    • Extremely Accurate and Effective
This product is extremely accurate and effective. It was easy to setup, had various pricing plans, well made. and most importantly extremely accurate. I own several high-end Garmin GPS devices and the LandAirSea 54 rivals the Garmin precision. I bought this device to track my luggage on an upcoming international flight. I tested it with my car and am well pleased. The 4G connectivity picked up the device location from the first level of a 5 story parking garage at my workplace. Furthermore, it transmitted the location to 8 floors up in my office building. Normally GPS is not reliable in this scenario but the device succeeded. I don't trust my Samsung Smart Tag with only Bluetooth to show me where my luggage is. I do think I will get a good result on the future trip. Very disappointed with the LandAirSea GPS tracker. It does not work properly internationally, which is the main reason I purchased it. I followed the setup instructions and troubleshooting steps, but the device still does not work as expected. If there are countries where the tracker will not work, LandAirSea should clearly state this before customers purchase it. I feel like I wasted my money on a product that does not provide the service I bought it for. I would not recommend it for anyone who needs international tracking. ... show more

Easy to set up and register online. Small enough to be inobtrusive in plain sight. The magnet is very strong and holds securely. Great tracker. I used this for an international trip and was able to track my bag the entire time. Very reliable and efficient. Battery life is great, and the charge lasts very long; only had to charge it once while on a 3-week vacation. Easy to setup and great customer service.
