Bought this after my dad purchased one. He pulls tanker and it’s very strict on what routes you can take. Very few times has either of ours messed up. It always takes me right to the destination. The only thing is addresses basically have to be spot on or it will say “address not found” or something like that but other then that it’s prefect definitely would recommend.     • Garmin is the superior GPS
You can make the argument that Rand McNally makes a GPS that is “just as good if not better.” I’ve used both, ran them side by side across the country. I, personally, would say the Rand McNally are just as good in regards to mapping. Only because they both are pretty good but both will also make mistakes. I did have some issues with the Rand McNally blacking out at random, and freezing up. Tech support was difficult to get hold of and I got the typical “did you try unplugging it and plugging it back in?” So I exchanged it and still had some issues and decided to stay with Garmin. What sets Garmin above others, in my opinion, is the quality/reliability of the product and their customer service. I had a unit go out on me after 5 years of constant use. When I called in (initially for tech support) I was greeted by an English speaking American. So much easier to communicate with each other the information needed to resolve the issue. When all was said and done, my old gps was toast but my new one was on my doorstep within just a couple days. Made in America, employing Americans and standing behind their product is what makes me a loyal Garmin customer. ... show more

    • I was amazed!
My son is a Truck Driver, and he had an older Garmin Dezl GPS that he bought second-hand. He told me he wanted to get a new one since the one he had broken. This Garmin Dezi OTR710 Truck Navigator is amazing. I didn't understand why he needed such an expensive Navigator until he had me put an address in my GPS, and he put the same address in the new Garmin Dezi OTR710. The difference was night and day. The Garmin Dezi OTR710 took him a totally different way than mine did, and it managed to keep the arrival time to almost exactly the same. He avoided a highway that doesn't allow trucks. It completely circumvented it, taking him on a 3 lane highway where he was able to make up the time, while mine took me on that highway that doesn't allow trucks, and is only 2 lanes, and can be brutal if there is an accident. The screen is huge, and the ability to see everything on it is amazing. Now I understand why he needed something like this for work. I'm sure he will get loads of use from it. I would recommend buying this if you are any kind of Truck Driver. It really is amazing. ... show more

    • Good but pricey unit.
Very much improved unit over the dezl 780 lmt-s. Much more accurate and quicker routing/re-routing times. Doesn't seem to hang-up during figuring of route. The only reason I returned the device is because of the mount. Is nice and strong, solid. Just not magnetic. Power cord is attached to the device it's self which I feel is more ware and tare on the power port. On the plus side it is usb-c. I person like to remove the device to hold in my hands when I'm setting up for another trip. With the constant bouncing around due to the roads and moving to set destination and removal from my truck when I go home, I feel it wouldn't take long before the power port stops working ... show more

For being a gps this thing doesn't find way too many addresses. And they aren't even weird addresses, they're just normal business addresses that are on Google maps. -Updated to five stars because I can now send the gps addresses from my phone. It never worked before and then one day I tried again and it worked so that's been very helpful. I've had this garmin for almost two months now and I drive a semi truck so I put a lot of addresses into it. When it finds them it's great. I do make sure to keep it updated. This is my only complaint and the only reason for two stars. ... show more
