  • Has Many Uses! But we are disappointed in this particular microwave!
We just bought this microwave combo and have not had an opportunity to try everything out yet. Everything that we have used, works very well. With all the options available it makes the cost very reasonable. UPDATE: 07-08-2025 We bought this microwave Sept. 15, 2023 and for the most part it had met our needs and worked as described. Tonight JULY 08, 2025 our microwave started making a terrible noise and started sparking and started on fire. The bowl I was using, to warm up some rice, is microwave safe and has been used many times in the past. Just to check that I hadn’t accidentally made a mistake in some way, I put my cooked rice on a paper plate and started the microwave again. It repeated the terrible noise and started sparking and caused another fire to start. There was no food left on the walls, base or top of the inside of the microwave so it wasn’t caused by spilled food. My husband and I are empty nesters so we are the only ones to have used this microwave. My husband and I are very disappointed with the fact that we have only had this microwave for less than two years and it has already broken and we must buy another. ... show more

  • Died by year 3 and Excellent Customer Support (UPD)
UPD After posting my feedback, Toshiba’s customer-service team reached out proactively and handled everything with real professionalism. They didn’t just replace - they also made sure the overall user experience was fully restored, from setup guidance to follow-up emails confirming that everything worked correctly. Even though some early units might have issues, their support and accountability absolutely changed my impression of the brand. That kind of proactive care deserves recognition. → Final rating: 5 stars - because great customer service can make the difference between a product problem and a lifelong customer. --- I bought the TOSHIBA Inverter Countertop Microwave Oven Air Fryer Combo (MASTER Series) and used it very rarely. Even with such light use, the touchpad stopped working around 6 months in. By about a year, it began randomly turning on and choosing random modes - which is both frustrating and a safety concern. By year 3, the unit was completely dead. The feature set (inverter, air-fry, broil, convection, Speedy Combi, Even Defrost, 11.3" turntable, etc.) looks great on paper, but the reliability just wasn’t there. Based on my experience, I originally did not recommend this product or similar combo units from this line. ... show more

  • Worst instructions I've seen in my life, NOT made by Toshiba but by Midea
Update 3/3/25: After less than 3 years of frustrating service, the heating element has died. No Broil. No Bake. No Airfry. This is one of the most frustrating pieces of electronics I've ever bought. Its air filter lasted longer than it did. Had I know I would be bait-and-switched into buying a Chinese brand Midea with Toshiba branding, I would have never bought it. I despise this practice and it should be illegal. The controls aren't lit and you need bright light directed on the keypad to see the functions. Then there's the functions--they are either terribly described or absolutely omitted from all description whatsoever. What is Broil? Is that upper coil on and nothing else? Does airfry mean convection oven? Unhelpfully described "Combi" has Toshiba saying it's a combination of various cooking. That's so helpful /s. What types of cooking, at what % and why? You can select C-1 or C-2. What on earth is the difference? Other than you have a CHOICE of C-1 and C-2, what it is is NEVER addressed anywhere on any official Toshiba or Midea site I could find. A bunch of people might opine about what it means, but unless the Mfr. tells me what's correct, they're a bunch of people just making wild guesses. The cookbook that's included has tons of errors in it, like ingredients from one line referring to another line--there's no unbleached pork as on the recipe, but there should be unbleached flour for the line below. It's supposed to be an air-fryer, yet the recipe book is exclusively Broil and never shows using airfry, even for famously airfried foods. There's a super-unhelpful label when you open the door that "kinda" describe some functions, but they require a magnifying glass to read. I am not kidding--try to find a picture with the door open and try to read the label without magnifying it. It's virtually impossible. The inside is all SS and it seems well-built. But this isn't a dumb microwave where you only need to describe time and % strength. It's complex and NEEDS to be described properly so people can use it. This would have taken a translator or editor a few hours to write and add maybe 2 more pages in the manual to be useful, but as it is I'm just guessing whenever I try to use it. This is a very frustrating "combi" oven. ... show more

  • Good Microwave/Airfryer but….
This Microwave Airfryer takes a little time to learn but once you do it is great. The defrost feature works very well. The noise level is much quieter than a regular Microwave. Perfect size for a small countertop. Airfryer feature worked great until it did not, heating elements stopped working less then 3 years having it. This would be a excellent Microwave Airfryer if not for the heating elements failing in less then 3 years, Microwave features still working but cannot use Airfryer features. ... show more

  • finally glad I bought this microwave
I have a very tiny kitchen and wanted an appliance that would perform several functions. this microwave does that for me acting as an air fryer, a convection oven & broiler so I do not need those appliances also taking up space. It has combination mode where you can use the microwave for cooking at the same time you use one of the other functions for a better finish than you get just from the microwave . I need to spend more time perfecting my use of the Combi mode . I have not quite mastered satisfactory toast in it for me... So I still do have a toaster on my counter. you should know before you buy this microwave that there is a learning curve as the controls are different than any other microwave I have used in decades... both countertop and over the range. I have gotten used to it now and love it... but I do keep the simple instructions in file pocket right on the end of my microwave cart. I love the defrost cycle. It's the first one I've had that defrosts meat and leaves it cold without partially cooking it... which has always been nasty to me. I also love that it is so very quiet when it's running that I occasionally have to glance at the face of it to make sure it is operating and I see the timer countdown. you can set it to show you the time of day or if you don't need that function you can turn it off which I also like. All in all if you don't mind learning new gadgets I would recommend this. If you just want a microwave that has function like every other one you've used this one might frustrate you a little bit in the beginning. I know I just learned the basics for the first few months and then I had the time, curiosity & need to learn more. I really would like to figure out how to get satisfactory toast out of it! I am glad I bought this! ... show more

  • Microwave function shorted while still under warranty
Update 2/13/26: I received a replacement for this from Toshiba sometime in May of 2024. And yesterday that one had a little inside fire inside. I unplugged it. It's the microwave that failed But obviously the convection is useless too.. So all in all I've had this 2 and 1/2 to 3 years. I don't know whether I'd buy another Combi microwave, especially not from Toshiba. Original review: I bought this model July of 2023 when it was on sale or something. Seemed like a good deal. For 8 months. It operated pretty well, both the microwave and the convection. I use the convection function almost everyday. The microwave part was fine too. However, recently, the microwave part malfunctioned. At first it was just a weird sound when I turned it on. And then it started to spark and short inside the microwave unit five or so seconds after I turned it on (I turned it on so I could send this picture to Toshiba). Pretty scary. Thankfully the convection ovens part still works. And thankfully I am under warranty. Toshiba just sent me a replacement. I haven't opened it yet, but hopefully we'll see. I would not recommend this model. It didn't last 8 months And had I not been within the warranty I would have been SOL. Another annoying idiosyncrasy about it — when using the convection (No preheat), I would set the the temperature then the time. But almost every time I presses start the thing stops And I'd have to reset it again and press again. There's something about that start button where you can only press it on certain parts or else it will just stop. So I have to know where to press it. That's pretty annoying. Also, keep in mind if you're used to push button Rather than dial microwave operations, this is going to be a little weird. I didn't take that into account. I can live with it but if and when I get another, it's going to be push button. ... show more

  • Turns on by itself**corrected***
This microwave was problematic with in a few weeks, I should have returned it. The biggest problem, it would turn on by itself. Very scary to leave it plugged in. Frequently the dial would not work or was not able to clear the time I would give it a zero if I could ***updated review*** I must applaud Toshiba !!! Their customer service contacted me and offered to replace the defective unit. At first I thought it was a scam, however, they really were true to their word. I received a new unit which I can say is working very well. Some changes were made to the door, dial and key pad which corrected the problem I was having with it starting on its on, adding time and keypad problems I can confidently recommend this product now... As well as the company ! Any company that stands behind their product is tops and so very rare these days !!! I will in the future look for TOSHIBA first ! ... show more
