My PS4 had the “Cannot turn on PS4. Cannot access System Storage.” issue. Frustrated but hopeful, I bought this drive as a replacement. When this drive finally arrived, I watched a couple YouTube videos on how to replace the drive (super simple) and I did so. I then turned on the PS4 and it told me to “Reinstall PS4 Software”. I had to go to the PlayStation website and look for “Reinstalling PS4 Software” and the process was very simple. Make sure you have a good USB drive and computer to do so. Bought this to replace a corrupt hard drive on a playstation 4 slim for a friend. I will say it worked as expected and I didn't have any issues with it. The first thing to keep in mind is that this is a $30 drive, which in itself is a pretty crazy deal considering it is a full 1TB of storage. It's speed is as fast as a standard Sony drive, and it doesn't make any noise which is funny to mention but I've ran into some drives before that made random beeps. In case you were wondering too, it is compatible with any model of the ps4, and you could slap it into a pc as well if you wanted too. Overall, pretty good quality for a $30 drive.     • Fixed HD failure on Lorex Security system
I have a Lorex 6 camera wire free security system (2021). This is the same HD they have in their recorder. Works well and the install is a piece of cake to accomplish, and at literally a fraction of the price Lorex would charge to do the replacement. I do have an issue with the system writing over the old data when the HD gets full. This is resolved by doing a format, which I couldn't resolve with the old failed HD. I believe the issue is with the Lorex design and not the HD as I have had a number of issues with the system. ... show more

    • Money wasted
Quality isn't good enough to work in a ps4, or either the 1tb HDD received was faulty to start with. After installing and loading the system files, it had several faults: system glitches, slow reaction, refused to shut down, fixated itself in a loop. Upon the removal of it, it was quite overheaded... Note: prior to installing the "supposedly new" 1tb HDD, the Ps4 had just been cleaned and the coolant fan is working perfectly. Reinstall the old 500gb HDD and it works fine, just was hoping to do an upgrade, but a mistake was made when purchasing this piece of scrap-crap, and furthermore, it's likely that the seller's shop is nothing but a hole in a wall, and they're probably laughing at this moment. Conclusion: The "supposedly new" TOSHIBA mq01abd100v was manufactured in 2018, so it's very doubtful that it is "new", in fact, the pins are somewhat worn to be viewed as being "new." In other words, it would definitely seem that it's a burnt out unit sold as a "new" HDD. In closing: I guess you get what you pay for, and it's obvious the unit is $30.00 worth of scrap-crap. My PlayStation 4 started getting really slow and would freeze up a lot. After I restored it, it came up with an error message. I googled the error code and basically, the hard drive was corrupted. Bought this to replace the hard drive. Came with instructions. Followed them. Simple and easy. PlayStation is up and running again. I’m happy :) ... show more

the hard drive is good and it is holding up but it's 800gb instead of the 1tb and some of my games crash then and there and one time my game corrupted but anyways it's still pretty good for its price
