I ordered this camera as an automotive diagnostic tool. All too often engine codes point you in a direction, but aren't exact. Its compact, works with Android or iOS and offers great imagery and instant thermal details. Setup was simple and straightforward. Only issue I have with it is you have to pay for a subscription to save pictures. An easy workaround for that is simply taking a screenshot. I just started checking out the functionality of this camera in the house and noticed it is perfect for measuring the efficiency of windows, doors and wall insulation.

This thermal camera is so cool. I am able to carry it in my pocket or purse and take it anywhere. Over a year ago I bought the hand held Topdon thermal camera to help troubleshoot my air conditioning in my house and I loved it but it was bulky and I was not able to just carry it in my pocket so I bought this one that plugs into my phone and I tell you, I love topdon products. This small compact thermal cam it the best for the price. I highly recommend buying this cam for your needs.

Excellent thermal camera! The tc002c duo works great and is very compact, simply attach it to your phone or use included cable if you case interferes with it. Works great for automotive diagnostics finding parasitic draws, shorts, air leaks, misfires and much more. Useful for other trades as well

Amazing little camera, you can have it in your glovebox and use anytime, I have some other TOPDON thermal but sometimes I go mobile to work on cars and I forget to take it this has save me, it is always on my glovebox and the quality is the same as the handheld one, thermostat testing, parasitic draws, short to ground, this has helped me a lot.

Technically, this camera works. It works very well actually, with impressive thermal resolution for such a cheap and small item. However, the camera is not detected at all by my phone (Samsung S24+ with Android 15) when plugged in directly. When connected directly, the Topdon software does not acknowledge it, nor does Android display any kind of USB device notification. Strangely, it detects and operates fine with the provided USB extension cable. However, having the camera dangling from a cable means that what should be a simple, one-handed tool becomes an unwieldy, two-handed tool, especially since the device is small and has no means of gripping it in this way, and the cable awkwardly connects to the top. I found I was constantly wrestling with either with the orientation or lens obstruction from the cable or my own fingers. I filed a customer support ticket at the manufacturer's website reporting this problem and all I got was unhelpful boilerplate (basically, clean the USB connectors and try it again), so I ended up returning it.
