Needed something to locate the radiant lines in concrete slab. This little camera is the perfect tool for the job. I found the grayscale setting the best for the job. The radiant lines clearly showed up nice and dark one they heated up making them easy to mark. I had a foundation repair firm out a few years back with a professional grade thermal camera that did not do any better of a job, in fact I think this camera did a better job, clearer visual definition of the lines. I can now proceed with my remodel with confidence that I will not be drilling into any of my radiant heat lines.

Works great and construction is very solid. Like the fact that it reads cold spots as well as hot spots. There is no SD card slot. My biggest complaint would be the instructions. Almost useless. They cover function keys and their location and that's about it. They don't cover a description of the menu settings at all. There are a lot settings in the menu and sub menus that I have no idea their meaning. Dont bother downloading the on line manual. It doesn't provide any additional info. Overall a good product that does what is says. Great price as well

Over the summer i put a camper on our desert property so i could spend weekends there to give me more time to get projects completed. Part of that i found myself wondering what was active at night, and to be able to see what's hiding in the bushes and in the little caves scattered about the property. For that i picked up something designed for more range, a rattler v2. As it was my first thermal, i was absolutely amazed with it. Then for Christmas year, i found myself wondering what to get my dad for Christmas. I ran across a thermal review video featuring a couple different handheld units including this topdon. For my dad, a handheld unit is perfect. I know my dad likes black hot and white hot views. So it's important that the unit has options. This one has it all, even black and white with red hot and full color scale. The topdon unit arrived, and i decided i better try it out before giving it to him. If it sucks, back it goes and i would have bought something else. Out of the box, boy does this thing have a little heft. A good sign. Using it around the house, it works great. I can see my foot print on the flooring, i can see little paw prints from the dogs. I can even trace their steps, and see the dog was on the couch but got off the moment i came into the room... lol I was a little concerned due to the sensor being bottom of the line with resolution but it's great. Looking around the house, i see some weak spots in my insulation. I can also see every board/stud in my walls. Pretty neat. Now i want one of these for myself! The temperature readout is also super handy. Yup, I'll need to pick up a second one of these for myself. ;)

After using the TOPDON TC004 Mini for a week now I can definitely say it out preforms for the price. Using higher end thermal imagers in the past I can say the TC004 Mini performs nearly the same. It comes packaged in very nice in a thick foam that I will be sure to keep it in. I like the compact size of the imager with it having a nice screen size making it very useable. Space in my tool box is limited knowing that this imager isn’t going to take up much is a major plus. I’m really impressed with the TISR upscaling adding increased resolution to the image displayed. The battery life is also awesome! I charged it once when I got it to make sure it was at 100% and haven’t had to since then. I am also really happy with the auto MIN and MAX temperature setting, it is nice that the imager can find them automatically. I would highly recommend this imager to any professional or hobbyist as it is an awesome aid for diagnostic procedures. The only thing I wish was included with this imager is a travel case, but it’s by no means a deal breaker as they can be purchased for cheap. Overall I am very satisfied with this imager and would definitely purchase it again!

While nothing wrong with this model at the price point, I found that did not have the resolution I needed to accurately see some subtle changes in heat behind walls or paint. I first noticed the difference when I looked at a wall and could see the heads of nails clearly with a slightly more advanced model from the same company but not at all with the other one. This model says it has TISR but the other one that didn't exceeded the effective resolution of this device even though this device said it would end up with the same effective resolution. Would recommend getting one at the optical resolution you need vice one that can digitally enhance the image.

Have had this for a while works very well. Don't use it a lot but comes in handy for elecrical issues and seeing heat on components. Also works good when checking bearings on combines or really anything you can easily see when one is running hot.
