  • Been Waiting Many Years for This
I have been wanting a thermal camera for years. Finally found one with acceptable resolution at a reasonable cost. Works exactly as I had hoped. Did a thermal review of whole house. Found cold spots around windows, in walls and ceilings and could sometimes identify individual 2x4s. Had a concern about auxiliary furnace heat, but camera showed vents had correct temperature. Checked circuit breaker panel and misc. appliances. Checked heater under bird water pan. Checked led light bulbs and found that electronics in base gets quite hot. App works OK so far. Still low on the learning curve. Have to be careful about pushing the wrong button on the app because that changes settings on the camera. I am looking for a generic app to just view/record real time video on friends' phones as I survey their houses. No luck, yet. Overall, I am very pleased with the camera! ... show more

  • Pretty nice thermal imaging camera.
The media could not be loaded. Original review of first thermal camera: Seemed pretty nice at first until I noticed some artifacts in the display that is apparently an issue with either the lens or the IR sensor itself. See the video. Returned for refund after no response from HSFTOOLS. They reached out to me and sent another one that works perfectly and has no artifacts in the display. ... show more

  • Very high quality camera, very easy to use
This thermal camera is very easy to use, the picture quality if very high and functions very well to show cold/hot spots in the home. One thing to note is that sometimes the picture in the screen takes a bit to update, half a second to a full second; just have a little patience when moving around - do so in a slow fashion. ... show more

  • Great handheld scanner
Pros: - Large Screen - Easy to use, but has plenty of settings to tweak if you feel so obliged - Connects to phone to download pictures quickly - Comes with a nice carrying case Cons: - I haven't had any yet I have both this scanner and one that connects to my smartphone and I have to say both work exceptionally well. Although on this one make sure you actually open the lens protector...that was entirely my fault when it wasn't working the first 5 minutes I tried to use it. Once you actually open the lens cover, the camera is easy to use. It makes it easy to figure out in the middle of the winter which of the walls in my very old house are not yet insulated. Fortunately it hasn't gotten down to -4 degrees since I've had it so I can't verify the lower bound, but I really only use it for finding leaks around the house versus needing an exact temperature measurement. The pictures it takes are good resolution and are easy to transfer to your phone with their app. It's the same app I use for my phone connected thermal camera and I've had no issues with it on either camera. Overall I think it's a great standalone thermal camera. I find the same company's phone connected thermal camera equally good depending on the form factor you're looking for. ... show more

  • Great thermal camera
This thermal camera is pretty good. I have a drafty apartment, so it was great having this to find all the cold spots. I was able to pinpoint the areas that were making my apartment drafty. I found the areas that I needed to focus on for repair. It accurately showed me hot and cold spots. I am not a professional, but this thermal camera could be used in work environments where temperatures need to be monitored or sought out. It is easy to use. It has simple controls without any complicated functions. There is some menu settings that can be adjusted in more detail, but the overall use is quick and easy. I didn't even have to read the manual. The screen display is good, and the information is easy to read. The materials used are durable and have protective features. It even comes with a cover. The images are good quality. It will take pictures too. There are duel cameras to help with processing. There are several different light wave choices that an be easily flipped through. The brightness can be adjusted. The battery life seems good. The charge time is quick. Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the thermal camera. It seems to be on the expensive side, but it's a great quality camera. It can even be used for fun things and scientific curiosity. Can you see like Predator? Uh, yeah! You can spot all kinds of heat signatures with this thing. Highly recommended. ... show more
