Works great for my kegerator.

This is a very good product. The thermostat on my kegerator quit and the unit continued to run until it froze the beer in the line. This was such an easy hookup and only took a few minutes to program. It keeps my beer at between 34-37 degrees. It's much more accurate than the old thermostat. I guess I was lucky the compressor was stuck in the Run mode and didn't shut down. I'm not sure what a person would do if that happened. A grief saver! :)

I had no idea this even existed!! Turns on a fan that's plugged in to it when temperature reaches a set temperature (that you choose) in our greenhouse and shuts off when temp drops back to set temp in the evenings. Saves SO, SO much time and worry if greenhouse is getting too hot during the day. Same thing in reverse if you want heat to come on and shut off at a certain temp. Before this, we'd watch a remote thermometer, but way too easy to get bizzy and forget. Or went shoping coming home to a 130° greenhouse. This is an investment in time and saving plants and we'll worth the cost. A quality product! We use a tall oscillating fan and it works so well with this product. I highly recommend! ... show more

Perfect for my refrigerator!

I bought this for cooling only. I have an old frost free refrigerator, larger than a college dorm type, but nowhere near full sized. The thermostat broke but the compressor works just fine. The problem is its either on full blast and is capable of freezing everything or I shut it off. I have been turning it on and off manually for 2 months and boy am I sick of that. I hooked up this device, super easy. I have the base line set at 37 degrees F and the cooling differential at 3. I had to go out of town for 4 days so I really trusted this thing and it works great. When the temp exceeds 40 degrees (base line plus 3 (cooling differential) the unit turns on. As soon as it drops to 37 degrees (baseline) it shuts down. It works exactly like it is supposed to and I trust it completely. If anything changes, I will update my review but as of know, 5 stars all the way. ... show more

Great at first but began failing before 5,000 power cycles

UPDATE 8/2025: I replaced the device that was plugged into the Cooling socket, and now it appears to be working reliably again. It might have been a flaky connection, I'm not really positive yet. At least, it has run without a problem a week now. So I am tentatively re-rating this product as 4 stars, and may upgrade it again if it's reliable for at least a year. I should also add that emailing the company for tech support produced a response within 10 minutes, and my follow-up email received a response within 15 minutes. Very impressive! I was initially pleased with this product, and used it to maintain a reasonably consistent, accurate temperature within a small cooler. But it failed far more quickly than I'd expected. I set it up with a 3-degree (F) tolerance. It completed a full on/off cycle approximately once every 20 minutes, and started failing after just under 2 months of use. If you do the math, that yields fewer than 5,000 on/off cycles. The failure mode was that sometimes when it should have switched on the power it didn't, even though the "Cooling" power LED was on, incorrectly suggesting that it was applying power. The first time it failed I took it out of service and tested it for a few hours and it seemed to working fine. So I hoped it was simply a weird fluke and put it back into service, but it failed again, the same way, within one day. Yes, this was an inexpensive device. My original plan was to replace it every year (even if it was working) because I figured that the relays wouldn't be super-reliable. But a 5,000-cycle MTTF renders this unusable for many applications. It's not like it was operating in harsh conditions or with a heavy load, either (it was a USB charger that pulled 6W steady state, operating more or less at room temperature). Now to see whether the 1-year warranty is of any use. ... show more

Simple to use (program) and does the job

Works great, easy to setup and use. configurable for 'F or 'C. I like the separate AC outlets on a dongle, but I wonder about the maximum load current capacity of the wiring. I've got a couple 200 watt grow lights and a 600/1500 watt space heater I run to grow tomatoes indoors during the winter. These would overload. I had been using a combo timer/switch with temperature control but after a few months this heavy load killed it. That worked for a while and then it's dinky power switch (relay) quit. So I found this Inkbird and ordered one. I'm sure it would do the job -for a while. As soon as I got it I noticed its quality. So I opened it up. It was an easy do. These days you can tell quality simply by seeing electronic components that have their markings still on the chips. -china removes these markings, but Taiwan and others do not. The Inkbird had all its markings and actually uses a rather powerful microprocessor to facilitate the control process. It remembers its settings when power off and that is an important feature. Very well. Since the last gadget died because of its relay failure, I decided to amp this up a bit. [pun intended] When your crop is dependent on not freezing to death -I hate failures. so.. The Inkbird uses a pair of relays -one for cooling and one for heating. These are separate from each other and rated for 15 amp 120 volt loading. Again, for a while... relays suffer horribly short lives when loaded to the max and cycling on/off many times as a thermostat will do. Then my epiphany.. A trick I use, is to construct a plug-in service box wired with 20 amp 120V grounded sockets, and with a solid-state relay, capable of at least 20 amps AC at 120V. I also use a 16 gage [or more] 3 wire power cord into this box. For extra credit, I use an expensive 'zero-crossing' type solid state switch (SSR). These run a bit hot when powering a 15+ Amp load so I add a big heat sink to the 'SSR' to help extend its life. This type of SSR uses a DC control (one/off) voltage between 3 and 35Vdc, so I add a small 12VDC wall-wart to switch the SSR, and let the Inkbird only power the wall-wart which in turn operates the SSR, which is very low wattage and thus a very light load on the relays inside the Inkbird. Note that this SSR box will operate a window AC as well. Add one of those Kill-A-Watt monitors and you can track the voltage, power and expense of your rig. ... show more

So far this is been a very good humidistat

I've been using this for a little over a week it's been working flawlessly to set up with super easy and works well with the ink Bird app that I already had. It's keeping my hearing tobacco at a perfect humidity level between 60 and 65% and operates my humidifier very well if it continues to operate in this way I'll highly recommend also the Wi-Fi connection is very stable for me and I love that I can see the humidity level throughout the day even when I'm at work because when you're curing tobacco leaves it has to be kept within a very finite range or it'll ruin it so I have to rely on this to keep it within range in my very dry climate where I live I don't use the dehumidifier portion of it cuz I don't need that but the humidistat portion seems to work well and it does have a provision to calibrate the sensor so that you get accurate reading it also allows you to set minimum and maximum settings with an alarm if it goes beyond those settings after testing it deliberately making it go into alarm it worked right each time it activated my humidifier when it was supposed to and then turns it off when it's supposed to I also love that it gives you a graph over time of the humidity level the sensor is in that's very helpful to know how consistent the device is working ... show more
