For the price of the thermal camera, the quality is outstanding! As a home inspector, I use it everyday. I was skeptical at first because the price was so low, but this has now replaced a few of my Flir thermal cameras. It's very easy to use. IT has a great camera quality, and seems to function better than much higher priced thermal cameras. I have used this to find leaks or water intrusion before any staining is visible. Overall, it has a great picture quality, it's very accurate, and able to be used for a wide variety of issues. So, I would definitely recommend this. I've been using it for 6 months now and no issues. The only thing that worries me over time is the lack of ability to calibrate it and possible lack of customer report. We'll see if anything goes wrong in the future. ... show more

This is my first experience with a tool like this. On the one hand, it is not as sensitive as I had expected it would be based on the videos I had seen online before I bought it. On the other hand, it does work. I am primarily interested in finding studs and joists in interior walls in a very old home with lath and plaster as well as some interior insulation. The Thermal Master Thor002 has aided me in doing so, but it has not been as easy to use as I had hoped it would be. In order to really see the studs behind the wall, or the ceiling joists (i also used it to identify some of these), I had to heat the room up or cool it down quite a lot relative to its original temperature (so, if the room was warm then I had to cool it; if it was cool, I warmed it with 2 space heaters) and then I had to wait until the room had started to return to the original temperature before I could view features clearly. (Different materials give off heat at different rates.) Otherwise, the variations in temperature were too subtle to see. But this way, in most cases, I could see the studs, and see where the nails were hammered in. So, it's a very high quality addition to my toolbox, but I would caution somebody opening the box expecting to see very subtle variations in temperature. It doesn't quite work that way. ... show more

Superb piece of kit, got this as part of my thermography certification process and I've been amazed at how many times its useful - tracked a water leak through into the basement as was able to see the drying process and have confidence about the outcome. Great for electrical work, the top end resolution is interpolated but thats true of most products now - this device will also overlay thermal and visual which is a wonderful tool for making sure you know exactly what you're looking at. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent thermal camera! If you work in home services as a technician, comfort advisor, or sales professional, this is an absolute must-have. Being able to actually show homeowners what’s happening behind the walls or in their attic completely changes the conversation. In the last two months alone, I’ve sold a little over $1.9 million in HVAC systems, new ductwork, and attic insulation projects, and this camera has been a huge part of that by helping clients visualize hidden issues they otherwise couldn’t see. It’s easy to use, the image quality is excellent, and it’s become one of the most valuable tools I carry every day. I first got HSFTOOLS HF96V, but wasn't impressed with the results. I then upgraded to Thor 002,and the difference is day and night. Thor has a much better IR sensor, better screen, palettes and image modes. More importantly, it can "see" much more than hf96v. The only drawback I found so far is the field of view - it is pretty narrow, and I always need to step back to capture a bigger area. This is annoying, but not a show stopper, especially for home inspections. Overall, I'm very impressed - this is definitely the best handheld camera under $400. ... show more

I've spent a little time playing with and testing the unit out. Great screen resolution in most color pallets. The temperature is pretty accurate however if you change environments with a large temperature difference it's very inaccurate. I understand this is common on thermal image systems and it takes 3 to 5 minutes to re-stabilize if it has an uncooked sensor and that the camera periodically preforms a Non-Uniformity Correction but there should be a manual way included. With that said I haven't been successful at getting it to read accurate even after 5 minutes without power cycling the unit in the new temperature environment. One other mention is like other's have stated here in their reviews the screen does lock up briefly every few seconds for like a split second. Aside from that I'm very pleased with the unit so far. Also the hard protective case is fairly well made but the one issue I have with it is the foam insert that keeps everything in place. The design of the lens shield swith on the device itself and the tight cut on the insert cause the protective cover to open on the lens nearly every time I put the unit back in the case. You have to be cautious of this and push it aside in order to not bump it or just slide a finger in. To close it again afterwards. UPDATE: 01/02/26: Unable to find Thermal Smart App on Google play store. Managed to find the app on MGR website manually DL and installed and “The device exposes only a Wi-Fi hotspot, but the official Thermal Smart app uses Bluetooth-only discovery and ignores active Wi-Fi connections, making the product incompatible with its own software.” ... show more
