This is my first review. I never take the time to review but felt the need because this product is awesome. Dug a trench 10 inches deep through rock and small roots to lay irrigation pipe. Excellent!!!!

Product appears to be well constructed. 2” square tubing has 3/8” walls. This is much heavier material than previous models. Titan corrected earlier problems with their thinner tubing by welding a piece of flat bar down the middle to strengthen the tube, but the one I received has no center flat bar, but much heavier tubing. I am a mechanical engineer and I believe something else is going to break before this tubing will. The on line instruction manual still shows the older style. The shear pin is a bolt that has been turned down to create a breaking point. One extra was shipped with the unit. After these break you will need to use a smaller bolt with washers or order more from Titan. I may grind a sharp edge on the front of the shank to help in cutting roots.

Hot Skippy damn. I bought this after breaking more breaker bars, pick axes, and shovels that I can count trying to fix my soil, and remove the stones from it. This bad boi solved all of my problems. Don't let the price fool you, this is built stout, and can handle even the hardest packed clay full of stones. Worth every single penny. If you're in the fence about it, just buy it. I cannot recommend it higher, especially for the price. Titan has found a loyal customer

Goes right in any 2" receiver tube - I used a double over/under so that I can add an extension for additional weight above it. Cuts a nice narrow rip through the sod (mostly rocks and gravel) that acts as my driveway.... when it isn't a muddy mess. I plan on breaking up the hard stuff with this ripper before scraping it down with the blade. I was actually giggling over how good it actually works behind my MTD 990. I contemplated building one myself instead of buying it, but I didn't have extra scrap steel thick enough laying around... and with the price of material - I would have had almost as much as I spent on this, even before I fired up the welder. Not sure about the break-away pins that come with this unit - I left the top one in, but used a standard hitch-pin for the other hole. Not worried too much about breakage anyway.
