I added the Timbeal Automatic Chicken Coop Door to my chicken coop last week, and let me tell you, it's been a real hit… mostly. Installation was surprisingly easy, with all of the tools included and clear instructions. The mounting cardboard was especially helpful for ensuring accurate placement. Because, let's be honest, nobody wants a crooked chicken door. I liked the multiple control options: it can be set to open and close based on a timer, a light sensor, or manually. The anti-pinch feature is also a great safety measure, ensuring no chickens get caught under the door. Nobody wants a pinched chicken! The LCD display is clear and easy to program, making it simple to adjust the settings as needed. I wired mine in, but it can also be run on batteries. Now, about the "hit" part. The automation is fantastic for me. No more early morning or late-night trips to the coop. However, my hens are still getting used to the whole "technology" thing. You might say they're a little...chicken. Every time the door opens, there's a brief moment of feathered panic. They scatter and squawk before cautiously venturing out. I'm hoping they'll eventually realize it's just a door and not a portal to another dimension. But for now, it provides some unintentional comedic relief. So far, the door has worked flawlessly (despite the occasional avian freak-out), making my life as a chicken owner much easier and giving my hens a reliable (if slightly terrifying) way to access their run.

This coop door is really nice! I love that it opens to the side instead of up, like most coop doors. It’s way stronger than the other ones I’ve bought. They’re all made of thin, flimsy metal, but this one is thick and sturdy. It’s also battery-powered or outlet powered, whichever is easiest for you, and easy to install. Just set up the opening and closing times with a timer. It has a light sensing mode and a manual mode, so you can customize it to your needs. And it has an anti-pinch function to keep the door from closing on your chickens. You can plug it in or use batteries, and the LCD screen shows the battery level. This door is way better than the others I’ve tried. They’re cheap, flimsy, and short-lived, but this one is well-designed and a great choice.
