Don't even bother buying. Very unreliable, have to replace batteries monthly if not more. Batteries are not cheap. Door faults 90% of the time, mainly due to low battery. Ours didn't open and we caught it too late and our chickens died from the heat. This was just a temporary door, we have a name brand door that works great that we've had for years on another coop. I would not buy again.

Recently, we came across a few scratch marks on this door and when we looked at our camera, there seems to be either a big, wild cat that attempted to open this door to our chicken coop but wasn't able to do so. So for us, this has definitely been tested against that has passed because all of our chickens have been accounted for and the door still works. Installing this was pretty simple to do and setting up the timer was just as easy. With the colder weather, our chickens were going inside of their coop a little earlier than normal so we were able to change the timer on the door to account for this. Extremely happy with this purchase and really good to know that wild animals are not able to open this from the outside.

I bought this because I loved the design of the sides sliding door. Thought it would be the best for my coop set up… It looks good and install super easy… That’s the best part… The worst part is he repeatedly fails to open and then it’s just stuck. I have to reprogram it and reset it multiple times and the chickens have been left stranded inside with the door partially open or not opening at all. I set it for a time opening and closing… I did not set the light setting… Failed at least 10 times over the past few months. Had to buy something else because I cannot depend on this and failure is not an option! I am very sad because it’s a great product but has many faults … One of the failure points is is that any dirt or poop gets stuck in the track as the chickens walk right through it it’ll it’ll fail the door… It’s just a design issue. I do not understand why it fails to open or close correctly When the door slide is clear and there’s no obstacle blocking it. it’s programmed and has direct power , wish I could return but it’s been too long …

Works fine if you cut the safety feature off. Due to temperature change and the unit bring plastic, the safety to avoid crushing is an issue. Took a dremel and cut it top to bottom as the safety is what causes it to not close an night. Also light sensor too sensitive although I built an awning for it which may be this issue, but I just use the time settings and update time throughout the seasons for open and close. Use lithium batteries, going on 9 months still 100% charge.

Bought this less than 6months ago and it’s already stopped working. Have good power ran out to it via extension cord. Plugged in and nothing. The screen doesn’t light up, doesn’t do a single thing. Even tried swapping cords to see if that was the problem. I wouldn’t reccommend this product at all. Easy to install but quality isn’t there. Doesn’t hold up or last. For it to be less than 6mo old is pretty disappointing.

I've been using this automatic chicken door for about 6 weeks now and it has completely transformed my daily chicken routine. The light sensor mode works like a charm - my chickens go in at dusk and come out at dawn without me having to wake up early. The timer mode comes in handy during the winter months when i want more control over their schedule. Setting it up was quick, and the LCD screen makes adjusting the settings very easy. I especially like how it handles our rainy winter weather - the door hasn't stuck or malfunctioned once despite the heavy downpours we've had. The battery life is holding up well even in the cold temperatures. My hens took to it naturally after just a couple of days, and now they wait patiently by the door each morning for it to open. I can finally take weekend trips without worrying about bothering my neighbors to help out

At first the door seemed great but after about 30 days it started to not open or not close. Now we have to make sure it closes at night. Which it doesn’t half the time and we have to walk down to the coop in the night to close it. We have to check every morning to be sure it opens. Half the time it does not and we have to go open it. Sometimes even when manually attempting to open or close it won’t. Overall I am not happy and now searching for a better door. Just get something better from the start. This is not a great door.
