I saw similar products as these going for as much as 40 dollars. Avoid them. These are only 20 dollars and I could tell while installing them that they are a quality product. I purchased these because my original computer chairs wheels were ripping up the linoleum flooring in my apartment and I did NOT want to buy that nasty office carpet for it to roll on. The chair literally glides across the floor which makes it even more comfortable to sit in and less frustrating because the wheels don't get caught on every little thing. Worth the money for sure.     • Good for those of us with high-pile carpeting, but don't expect miracles!

I had an old office chair that I picked up at a charity shop years ago. It did well on the lower-pile carpets at my old place, but the high-pile rugs in my new home practically made it immovable. I was rather nervous about getting a plastic glide mat for the chair because of the large number of accidents reported when the rolled mats suddenly exploded to full size when removed from the packaging. I'm disabled, and it can be really difficult to get up at times, and when the chair is immovable, it can be an issue. I was lucky enough to come upon these while poking around the Amazon site one evening, and I decided to give these wheels a try. I'm happy that I did! The wheels allow the chair to move a bit, although the movement is not always smooth, and I need to rock a bit to get the wheels out of the carpet grooves. That's really the only (very small) complaint that I have about them. The important thing is that I can move without too much effort, and I can push back my chair and get to my feet in an efficient manner. It also added about an inch of height to my chair, which always helps! I give it five stars because it actually does work a bit on high-pile carpeting. Just don't expect to be able to glide about the room as you could on a wood floor. Also, as a footnote, if you have trouble removing the old wheels (as I did). there are many videos online that will guide you through safely removing them. ... show more

I recently bought a new office chair, and it came with the standard cheap wheels. I have carpet on my floors and didn't want to buy a floor mat, so I got these to replace those cheap ones. They fit perfectly in my chair, and they move great on carpet and are very quiet. I wasn't sure of the quality because the price was very good, but these aren't cheap and feel very solid and heavy. As a big guy I have no worries that these will hold up and last me as long as I have the chair and beyond. If you have a desk chair and it doesn't move very well, you might want to try replacing your wheels with these. ... show more

Just replaced my chair wheels that came with it from the factory, I wish I had done this sooner! The wheels are supper smooth and easy to install. They also add a bout 1 to 1.5 inches, so if you are looking to add some height this Is a great solution. I will be adding a rug soon to my WFH desk to dampen the sound and with these wheels I feel more confident they will be able to handle being on top of the rug. ... show more

    • Solid replacement casters

For me, I replaced the original casters because they would come apart frequently. I am using my chair on a carpet and while it is of a very low pile, I suppose it provided enough friction to pop the standard casters apart. That is where these replacement casters came in. The good - * They solve the falling apart caster problem because there is nothing to fall apart * They are easy to install * They seem quality and long-lasting (time will tell) * Quiet The jury is out - * Possibly because they are taller than the standard casters, I notice that there is a slight wobble at the joint between the chair base and the caster. It is not something you feel, simply something that you can see. I'm not entirely sure if this will cause undue stress on the chair over time, or if its nuttin' The not so good * As others have pointed out when changing direction whilst moving about, the casters' movement can be a bit clunky - more so than standard casters. For me though, replacing the stock casters with these was a no-brainer. Also, it's cheaper than purchasing a replacement quality mat under my desk (my old one too had disintegrated after years of use - possibly why the old casters were falling apart more frequently). If your existing casters are fine and you already have a mat, probably you don't need these. ... show more

I have an older carpet in my craft room, a medium short dense pile and the wheels that came on my office chair would not roll at all on that carpet. I was hopeful after reading reviews these might work. The wheels are substantial and much better than normal office chair wheels. I am happily pleased with these and would recommend giving them a try, even if you have a denser carpet or rug pile, they will probably work.
