The TickCheck Tick Remover Toolkit is designed for easy and complete tick removal for humans, dogs, cats, and animals. This kit includes two high-quality stainless steel tick removers designed to easily remove partially or fully embedded ticks of any size, as well as a carrying pouch and tick identification card. Unlike other cheap plastic tick remover tools, these TickCheck tick remover tools are crafted from high-quality stainless steel. Our tools will stand up to high-volume daily use for those in a heavy tick area, and can be sterilized or washed for a lifetime of use. TickCheck is a small Pennsylvania company dedicated to helping prevent tick-borne disease, Our goal is to provide the best tick prevention tools and help fight the spread of Lyme disease. This kit is a must-have for hikers, runners, pet owners, or anyone who lives in a high-risk area for tick bites and Lyme disease. Designed for active people in high-risk tick areas. University designed & tested, used and approved by doctors and veterinarians. The stainless-steel tick remover tool features a non-slip grip and a forked tip designed for easily and completely removing larger, embedded ticks. Our specially designed tick removal tweezers have an ultra-fine yet strong curved tip that allows removal of the tiniest ticks, such as deer ticks. Both tick removers fit snugly in the included leatherette carrying case, which makes it easy to take with you in your first aid kit or backpack. Our university laboratory has extensively tested these tick remover tools to ensure that they can easily and safely remove all types of ticks from humans or animals. The CDC recommends the use of fine-tipped tweezers to carefully remove ticks. Beware of other tick removal tools that advertise "twisting" or jerking the tick - this can cause the mouth-parts to break off and remain in the skin, and increase the transmission risk of tick-borne infections like Lyme disease. The TickCheck Tick Remover Kit includes a handy Tick Identification Card with a reference to help you identify the three most common ticks in North America: The card also includes instructions for safely removing embedded ticks, and information on having ticks professionally identified or tested for tick-borne disease at the TickCheck's university-associated tick testing laboratory. Keep your TickCheck Tick Remover Kit handy in your backpack, first aid kit, or glove compartment and do a full body tick-check every time you return from an outdoor activity in a tick-infested area. Fast detection and removal of an embedded tick is the first step to preventing Lyme and other tick borne diseases. Research has shown that the faster you remove an embedded tick, the lower the risk of disease transmission. Our tools comply with CDC recommendations for safe tick removal, and are designed for use on adults, children, and pets. Get prepared for tick season with a TickCheck Tick Remover Kit!

abunda_amazon_reviews As a Lyme-literate physician, I remove ticks from patients (and my own family) often. Up until now I've used a "tick spoon" and, if needed, fine tweezers. I've certainly had my share of failures with this method. This Removal Kit appears to be very well-made, with nicely machined surfaces, high quality steel, and thoughtful design. Thank you for an excellent product!;;Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2017;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Well made and easy to use;;Hikingdoc;;/gp/customer-reviews/R277HRLIB0E5BI/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B075DKL3Z6;;;There are cheaper alternatives out there, but these looked to be of better quality. On review, both tools appear to be made of good stainless steel, and nicely finished (no sharp or rough edges, except of course the tweezers' points). The knurled plastic coating on the tick puller is grippy enough to give you good control. There's none of that on the handles of the tweezers, but they're flat, you don't need it. We've had a mild winter, and wet spring, so lots of ticks in both western and eastern WA, earlier than usual. Walking and working in the woods, or on our off-grid place, we just can't avoid the brush and grasses where they lay in wait. My wife and I have already found several ticks on ourselves, and several dozen on our lab, Hannah. We check during and after every outing, and find most of them before they've had a chance to dig in...but a few have escaped notice long enough to draw a little blood from poor Hannah. I've given her a Bravecto tablet, and it does drive them off her, but it seems like it can take a couple of hours for the ticks to recognize the poison and get lost...and when they jump ship, they sometimes wind up in the house or cabin, to munch on us later. At first I was disappointed that the slit in the tick puller didn't fine-down enough to grip onto the small ticks...then I read the instructions, realized I should have been using the tweezers. They work great on the tiny nymphs. Just do as the instructions say, pull straight up, slow and easy. We've been careful, and haven't snapped off a tick's head yet. The small plastic ("leatherette") case fits easily in my shirt pocket, so we take the kit with us when we go outdoors -- we can be gone for hours, and don't want to give the critters a chance to bury-in. The case seems sturdy enough to last a good while. If it wears out, I'll put the tools into an old aluminum cigar holder. You need some kind of holder, the tools are so small they'll get lost if carried loose. I wasn't real sure we'd get a lot of use out of these, but it looks like we will. Also removing a tick can be tricky because you do not want to accidentally rip off the body while leaving the head under the skin. That is why having the right tools is important. Tickcheck comes with tweezers and prongs and nifty carrying pouch. The material is tough enough to be tossed into any camping bag until you actually need it, I always get nervous about plastics tools since they may crack or break when you need them. The only thing I wish were modified would be for the card to fit inside the carrying pouch, and perhaps have a small plastic bag slot to place the ticks inside of in case of a bite. Neither of these issues takes away from the quality of the product, and I feel much more comfortable with it on me. Money well spent. I bought this kit as a precaution -- I wanted to have a removal tool in my first aid supplies in case I ever find a tick on myself or a family member. After looking at the various tick-removal options available on Amazon, I chose this implement duo because it appeared to be versatile (providing 2 different methods to remove a tick), sturdy and long-lasting, easy to sterilize, easy to grip, easy to store, and easy to tote around. My initial impression upon opening the package is that this kit will live up to those expectations. I was pleasantly surprised that the green parts of the 2 implements were actually painted metal (is it stainless steel?), rather than plastic -- I guess that since they were bright green, I assumed from the product listing's images that they would be plastic holders molded around stainless steel end-pieces. You might want to make it more clear in the product description that both tools are solid metal with no plastic parts (and that the metal is stainless steel, if indeed it is). The black plastic case is a good accessory to protect the implements, to keep them both together, and to indicate clearly (with the wording on the cover) what they are meant to be used for, for others who might come across them (in a medicine cabinet or picnic basket, etc.) Of course, if the case had been made of leather instead of plastic, that would have been great, but that would probably have doubled the cost. I am also hoping to add your new Tick Remover Card (a flat plastic card with a slot to remove large ticks and a slot to remove small ticks) to my array of tick-fighting implements. This strikes me as a practical, inexpensive gift for friends and family members -- it is lightweight, easily-mailed, and smart to have on hand (even if the recipient already had a tick remover at home, this could always go in a purse/backpack/briefcase, vehicle glove compartment, office desk drawer, high school locker, etc.);;Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2018;;4.0 out of 5 stars;;Both implements are solid metal - the case is a nice feature - the kit seems sturdy and easy to use;;Primrose Hill;;/gp/customer-reviews/R1C9CAY5UA5ME2/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B075DKL3Z6

The bonus tick identification card which shows the proper technique to remove the ticks is a nice touch, just in case we freak out when we get bit and forget all of our training. The only thing I wish were modified would be for the card to fit inside the carrying pouch, and perhaps have a small plastic bag slot to place the ticks inside of in case of a bite. Neither of these issues takes away from the quality of the product, and I feel much more comfortable with it on me. Money well spent. PS Tickcheck will even ID the tick for you for FREE which is good to know

Both implements are solid metal - the case is a nice feature - the kit seems sturdy and easy to use
I have just received my new Tick Removal Kit. This strikes me as a practical, inexpensive gift for friends and family members -- it is lightweight, easily-mailed, and smart to have on hand (even if the recipient already had a tick remover at home, this could always go in a purse/backpack/briefcase, vehicle glove compartment, office desk drawer, high school locker, etc.)
