I use this for the feral cats in the neighborhood - works very well but you definitely need to get more than one dose in for it to work effectively. I notice they scratched themselves less and there were no other side effects. It is a bit pricier if you have to buy it continously but it works

Love this stuff. Works for my cats (including my long hair fluffy girl). Had a pretty bad flea infestation a year ago and I tried everything and it was taking a while to get rid of them. Gave this pills to my cat and the fleas died off within two days. I became so traumatized from that infestation that I now give it to my cats once a month to prevent any infestation and it works great. I sometimes spot the dead fleas on the floor. LIFE SAVER!!! My two cats got fleas right before I had to leave for the weakened. I’ve never dealt with fleas and didn't realize how quickly things would go from “bad” to “calling an emergency vet”. THANKFULLY the receptionist at the veterinary hospital told me that typically fleas are not an emergency and that unless my cats are licking their skin raw and bleeding, that I should just stick to flea medication, baths and home treatment. I overnighted this medication along with Wondercide flea and tick spray. Within the hour, I saw very few live fleas on their body and dead fleas all over the surfaces I sprayed. It has now been about 10 hours and there are ZERO live fleas in sight !!!! All the fleas I comb out are good and dead!!! Do your cats a favor and get this combo! ... show more

I was first introduced to Capstar by my veterinarian. Capstar flea treatment for cats is unique compared to other typical flea treatments. It is not meant to be a treat once remedy that provides lasting protection against flea infestation. Instead, it is a fast acting medication that kills live fleas on cats and is intended to be used as-needed. It starts working quickly to provide almost immediate relief for your pet. Dosage is a single small pill which can be crushed up and mixed with your cat’s food. Once administered, within 20 minutes, you will notice that fleas are literally dying and falling off of your cat, leaving him/her free of infestation. If you have multiple cats, this provides a good method of killing off existing fleas all at once so that you can start other long-term treatments with a clean slate. Let’s face it, most flea collars simply cannot effectively treat a live flea infestation thoroughly. But coupled with a product like this, you can be sure that you’re starting off your long-term treatment with a minimal amount of surviving fleas, making it easier for the collar (or other treatment option) to maintain a flea free coat of fur.     • Easy to hide in food to eat

It took us forever to get rid of fleas. There was no sight of any except on the cat. We used nearly all of these to finally get somewhere with killing them. I wouldn’t wish fleas on my worst enemy. I mean this is the first step to killing the ones on her then you gotta clean the mess off the cat and the surroundings. Ugh. PTSD while writing this now that they’re gone. She scratched, she spazzed, she was all over the place after we gave her a CapStar cuz they’re moving around her more freaking out - that’s normal.
