I was first introduced to Capstar by my veterinarian. Capstar flea treatment for cats is unique compared to other typical flea treatments. It is not meant to be a treat once remedy that provides lasting protection against flea infestation. Instead, it is a fast acting medication that kills live fleas on cats and is intended to be used as-needed. It starts working quickly to provide almost immediate relief for your pet. Dosage is a single small pill which can be crushed up and mixed with your cat’s food. Once administered, within 20 minutes, you will notice that fleas are literally dying and falling off of your cat, leaving him/her free of infestation. If you have multiple cats, this provides a good method of killing off existing fleas all at once so that you can start other long-term treatments with a clean slate. Let’s face it, most flea collars simply cannot effectively treat a live flea infestation thoroughly. But coupled with a product like this, you can be sure that you’re starting off your long-term treatment with a minimal amount of surviving fleas, making it easier for the collar (or other treatment option) to maintain a flea free coat of fur. works well once you get it IN them. Hiding it in food hasn't worked for me. they find it and leave it. If you think you're going to mash it up think again. They are hard as rocks. The bits go flying. Mash it plyers and too much is stuck on the plyers. Too expensive for that. Your only option is to dissolve them by soaking them over night and then mixing in some yummy canned or foil pouch type food. wish they were bigger and or softer. I’m so happy! I don’t deal with any kind of bugs in my house! I thought I would have to get rid of my kitties because I couldn’t figure out how to get rid of these fleas. Went to chat and this product was recommended. For 6 tabs, I didn’t think the cost was bad. So, I tried them. 1 tab for each kitty. I brushed them prior to giving the tab, At least 3 fleas on each kitty. I don’t know if that’s considered an infestation, but to me it is. I waited until the next day to brush them again. Not 1 flea!!!!!!! I’m so happy and will continue to give these pills monthly (if that’s safe). I also put salt on my carpet. Purchased a new vacuum with a bag. Sweeping daily with new bag ($). This product works great, especially on cats with the super thick long hair with layers! It’s sooooo helpful with flea infestations. This with a flea collar and a bit of bathing to get the fleas off, and it works wonders. Honestly better than some of the topical solutions they have out there.
