Description

Give your dog long-lasting protection against fleas and ticks with the number- one vet-recommended flea and tick collar. Unlike other flea and tick protection, Seresto large dog collars kill and repel fleas and ticks for 8 continuous months. Seresto collars make your dog’s comfort a priority by killing fleas and ticks through contact, so pests don't have to bite your dog to die. Existing fleas die after 24 hours of initial application of the collar. After 24 hours, any new fleas on the dog are killed within 2 hours with protection against further flea infestation lasting 8 months. The prevention of infestations with new ticks starts at 48 hours after application of the collar. 48 hours after application, any new ticks are repelled and/or killed in as quickly as 6 hours. Seresto large dog collars protect against common pests like deer ticks, American dog ticks, brown dog ticks, and Lone Star ticks; they're also effective against chewing lice for 8 months. Fleas and ticks not only cause discomfort; fleas can transmit bartonellosis or tapeworms. Ticks can transmit Borrelia burgdorferi, which causes Lyme Disease. Check the product label for information on potential side effects. Seresto large dog flea and tick collars are for dogs at least 7 weeks old and over 18 pounds, and no prescription is needed. They're odorless, non-greasy and water- resistant to swimming, exposure to rain or sunlight, bathing, and shampoo treatment. Seresto is a trademark of Elanco or its affiliates. Seresto large dog is water resistant and remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for 8 months. In order to maintain an 8-month duration, dogs must not be bathed more than once per month. For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to 5 months for flea control and reduced to 7 months for tick control.

  • LONG THOROUGH REVIEW from a skeptical pessimist
Size: 1 Pack
This collar is PERFECT. Okay so I was really really super skeptical about buying this for several reasons: - I hate the thought of my two pups having to constantly wear an extra collar - I've tried the flea/tick collars from Walmart and they were greasy and had a weird smell but even worse, they did NOT work. - I've read some of the horrifying reviews - I'm just a skeptical person and simply didn't think this would work. BUT IM A BELIEVER NOW. For context, I have a 3yr old short haired ~45lbs pup (pitbull, lab, corgi mix) and and a 7yr old long haired ~30-35lbs pup (Lhasa Apso terrier mix). I live in Maryland where the weather is just always unpredictable. I feel like we have like 6 seasons instead of 4. We have woods in the back of our house which deer always like to frequent, along with a swamp/pond across the street. This spring and the start of this summer we had a monsoon season where afterwards, there was an annoying infestation of ticks (mostly Lone Star and Deer ticks). It was disgusting. I legitimately could not take my dogs out for a walk without finding at least 4 ticks on them afterwards and on me!!! And this is on top of treating my dogs with the monthly tick/flea topical oil treatment. That's how bad it was, which is what prompted me to buy the Seresto collars. (I bought Large for both of them) Once I did and placed them on my dogs, after maybe like 1-2 days, I have not found a single tick on them. I know that sounds so far fetched but I don't know what else to say because it's absolutely true. It does take about 1-2 days for the medication to get into the system (from experience and from *I think* what the package said) because I still did find a few ticks on them the next day. But after that, not a single tick! They've been wearing the collars for about 1.5 months now so I'm still keeping an eye on them (I plan on updating this review after 7-8 months to see if the claim of lasting 8 months is legitimate). Right now though, I am sooo happy. Now I want to address some of the other reviews I saw. After I saw some of the pictures of rashes this collar left on some dogs, I was worried, especially cause my smaller one already has exist in skin issues. But both are doing perfectly well with no skin issues from the collar. I don't want to be presumptuous and I may be totally wrong, but I'm thinking maybe the rashes the other dogs had were because they're not used to wearing collars? So they just kept itching at it? Maybe? I say that because for me at least, my dogs are used to wearing their regular collars nearly 24/7 since they were babies. So when I added the Seresto collars, they were unphased. But then again I'm also aware that just like humans, each dog reacts differently. Luckily, My dogs have no rash problems from the collars. As for some claiming that the collar doesn't work.. I'm not sure what to say other than that they really truly work for my dogs, and I live in a heavily tick infested area. It really is like night and day in terms of how well this collar works at preventing tick bites. Especially with my long haired dog since ticks would easily hide in her fur. The collar isn't greasy nor does it have a strong emanating odor. BUT it's still medicated so it still has a very slight residue to it but nothing that interferes with everyday life. I'm sold and plan on continuing with this product from here on out. NO MORE GREASY NASTY SMELLY TOPICAL MONTHLY TICK GREASE! **Side note** Make sure you read the packaging instructions carefully!! They mention a few things like about how the efficacy is shortened to something like 5 months for dogs who swim a lot, or how the collar is designed to unlatch if the dog pulls incase it gets stuck on something (which I thoroughly appreciate) so you CANNOT substitute this as a walking collar! The collar DOES unlatch if you hold onto it and your dog pulls (personal experience: guests came over, one jumps and I accidentally grabbed the Seresto collar and it unlatched). But you CAN reattach it!! So definitely take the time to read the package instructions. Hope this helps! I really loveeeee this collar. THANK YOU SERESTO!!! ... show more

  • Best Flea & Tick collar - Repeat buy every year
Size: 1 Pack
This is the only flea and tick collar we trust for our 65lb Catahoula, and our vet recommends it. We actually bought these twice from the vet before realizing that they were available otc... at nearly 1/2 the cost. The collar is soft and flexible and hides easily under a collar if that is your desire. Make sure to activate it before putting it on your dog by lightly stretching and unrolling it, bending it backwards a bit. It will have a grayish-white, powdery film to indicate that the medication is exposed and the collar is ready to be put on your pet. When you put it on, wrap it around where its collar usually lies, pull it through two loops, ensuring it is not too tight and that you can fit two fingers between the collar and the dog's neck. Trim the excess, and that's it! The medication will kill any fleas or ticks crawling around within 24-48 hours. It has no discernible scent that I've noticed, and the light gray color is just noticeable to know it's on. Catahoula Leopard dogs are known for their sensitive skin, but this medication has no effect, and he has never lost hair from it. We will continue to buy this for our doggo. He deserves the best ... show more

  • Well made and Effective! My Vet Gives 👍
Size: 1 Pack
My vet highly recommends Seresto collars and it’s an affordable option! I tried a “natural” product and my dog reacted badly to it as soon as I placed it! She kept rolling and pawing it in an attempt to get it off! So I went back to Seresto! It has worked very well in the past and kept her tick free! It’s well made, odorless and my dog doesn’t even know it’s on! ... show more

  • Excellent for ticks!
Size: 1 Pack
I live in the heart of tick country and this collar works wonderfully. Our GWP runs through woods and fields every day. Seldom any ticks on her and when there are, they are never attached. On only our third one in three years because they last through the entire tick season.

  • Works great, but not for 8 months
Size: 1 Pack
It’s the best flea product we’ve ever used. However it doesn’t last anywhere near 8 months. I’ve been tracking the last few purchases and on average it lasts 3.5 months before the fleas return. It’s the same amount of time for both dogs. 8 months is an extreme over exaggeration and so instead of 5 stars I’m giving 4 for false advertising the longevity. Everything else is perfect and I’ll continue to come back and buy them every 3 months, not 8, for my doggies. We’ve tried lots of flea products including prescriptions and this is by far the best by a landslide for effectiveness. ... show more

  • No more ticks
Size: 1 Pack
We have lots of ticks where we live. Within a could days I had pulled 2 massive ones of my puppers. So I ordered her a collar. It’s easy to put on and it’s not smelly, oily or greasy. She’s had it on for about 2 weeks now and no more ticks so really seems to be working. It doesn’t irritate her skin, she’s not scratching at it and her fur isn’t falling out. She has sensitive skin so I was worried about the collar but it’s working and she’s not irritated by it so I’m super happy with it. ... show more

The ticks have been really bad this year and we were removing them a lot. We got these collars and they have prevented anymore ticks on our dogs.

  • Does not seem to repel or kill Lonestar ticks
Size: 1 Pack
I thought I had finally found a great product for my Great Pyrenees mix until we recently found a lone star tick on my dogs right eye lid. It looked like a skin tag at first glance but I had to take off my glasses and get on the floor and using my iPhone flashlight I thought I saw a leg move. My daughter brought the tweezers down for me and I pulled the tick off of my dog’s eyelid. The tick may have been sick because it wasn’t moving a lot when I pulled it off and it may not have been completely latched on yet. It didn’t take much at all to pull it off. Before pulling it off, my dog was laying on the floor and using her front paw, she was doing a swiping move to her face, so she obviously felt it on her eye. This was the third collar I had bought, first two she never had a tick on her. So now I am questioning whether the collars really work. My dog just had surgery recently to repair an injured CCL, so we haven’t been outside much while she still recovers. We do take leashed walks and are building back up to where she use to be before tearing her CCL. Just so disappointed that the collar isn’t doing more for tick prevention. The collar was installed exactly as the directions state, close to her neck but loose enough to put two fingers under it, she doesn’t swim at all, doesn’t like water. She hasn’t been groomed in 4 months and when I get her groomed, I always remove the collar prior to driving her there, the out it back in when I bring her home. The Seresto collar she was wearing was purchased in February, so it hadn’t even been two months yet. If it were 6 months old, that might be different. The collars are designed to kill and repel but here was a lone star tick attached to my girls eye lid. That’s not good enough protection for my girl. According to the Seresto website, it can take up to 6 hours for the tick to die. After finding the tick, I removed the collar and stored it in a sealed baggie, gave her a dose of regular Simparica (not Simparica Trio because I already give her Tri-Heart for heartworm prevention). I am trying to decide if I will use the collar again, just use Simparica or maybe I should do both since they are different types of prevention meds. ... show more
