These are a life saver for us. I have never thought about reviewing them despite buying often. Simple to use and have never had an issue with any of our dogs. I would imagine these would be a good tool to use when trying to battle a flea issue, but for me it has always been a preventive measure after having to tackle a long battle years ago. I give my dog one of these as soon as we leave any place other dogs or animals have been such as a store or the vet office. That way any hitchhikers get taken out versus moving into our home. I learned about these years ago when I was part of a volunteer transport group to get shelter dogs to rescue groups or to fosters. The first leg of the trip would supply one of these pills to help out the entire trip and the dog with any fleas could be relieved. I have not had an issue in years and years and I think it is because of other tactics I use but this is the front of the battle line tool I use. I rarely ever write reviews (this is my 2nd one), however I feel like people should be warned when it comes to their pets. I wish I could give this one -100! For starters, it is NOT the same as Capstar, like I wrongly assumed & someone mentioned below. It’s not even a dupe, because at least that one actually works, and my dogs only have to take it once a week. My poor dogs are scratching & itching even WORSE than before I gave it to them. It’s as if they jumped in a pool of fleas or something, that’s how bad they’re scratching, itching, biting, and even whimpering now. I feel so bad for buying this and giving it to them. This is one item where the negative reviews are legit and definitely a warning. DON’T get this, it’s worth it to pay a little extra for Capstar or a better short term alternative, which is what I ended up doing because my poor dogs are too miserable to even eat now. The only reason I’m having to give them this is to hold them over short-term while I am waiting on the monthly prescription flea meds from the vet to arrive. My dogs were annoyed with the itching here & there before taking this, however now they’re just miserable afterwards. Instead of it working in 30 minutes, they’re intensely itching every 30 minutes or less for the entire day. I’ve never seen them respond to fleas like this at all until taking this. We have seven Basset Hounds (ages three months to eight years) and a Farm. This is the first year we ran into a flea problem and the source isn't known, so we tried almost every DIY remedy and none of them worked. We always have Capstar on hand, but the doses we have ran out long before our problem. We got the drops from another source and ordered these pills for the Baby because she was too young for the drops. Bottom line, we still have some fleas on the Baby this morning using this product. We found no adults and nothing resembling the infestation we found over the past few weeks. We gave the pill to the pup every few days, when we say signs of infestation. Those few we did find were vacuumed away easily and we will remain vigilant for a few more weeks. I have to give this product a passing grade, but it is not the sure bet we were hoping for. The shipping was nearly instant, the price was very competitive. I'd say it is a good product for small indoor-sy dogs and puppies. Fast acting and Great on flea Infestation. However, it only works on adult fleas and doesn't kill the eggs. This is what you need to know to be satisfied with this product. I use this in conjunction with monthly flea treatment. I first give to my dog, with 30 min to 1 hr. Bath dog in fea shampoo. Treat yard, patio, wash dog bedding and spray with flea spray after the drying cycle. I also spray down the house. Yes you need to do all this especially right before flea season. Some have commented the their dog continues to scratch however you need to understand that they will because they have flea bites all over their body. Think of it like this, getting bit by a mosquito and you scratch and scratch. The saliva of the fleas and or mosquitoes causes you to itch until it heals or you put some kind of soothing ointment, lotion or medication on it. Therefore, I will bath my dog once more in an oatmeal shampoo with in the week. Then I will give another pill 48hrs later then save the rest just in case there is another infestation. This product work well and great in combination of monthly flea treatment that also kills eggs and treat for mosquitoes ... show more
