Worked really well for about 6 months. I really liked that I could monitor the spa temperature from inside the house, since we had the previous spa fail without our knowing. But then the floating thermometer stopped, which I assumed was from drained batteries. I replaced them (2 AAA), but still the screen was blank. I sent an email to the maker and they sent a new one! I was afraid that shipping charges would be too high to make a return worthwhile, but no return was necessary at all. So, five stars for a great warranty.

I don’t keep my spa hot all the time in the winter. So when I do turn it on, this ThermPro wireless thermometer allows me to know when the water is hot without me having to go out in the cold weather to check on it. This is a much better made unit that another one I had previously. The display on the floating sensor and on the monitor in the house both have large clear numbers that are easy to read. I’ve been using it for six months, and it shows no indication of water intrusion into the sensor. (The other brand I had before showed condensation inside within a couple of months.) I did have a couple of issues with it. After a few weeks, it started showing a temperature four degrees higher than the water actually was. (I used a fever thermometer to compare the readings. But I could tell just by sitting in the water that it wasn’t actually 108 degrees Fahrenheit!) No worries, I just assumed when the monitor in the house showed 108, that the water was up to 104. However, after 6 months, the sensor showed no display, and the in-house monitor showed no information from the sensor (even through it showed the ambient temperature in the house.) So I checked the batteries and saw that they were at 1.43 volts, which I thought should be close enough to 1.5v for the sensor to operate. I put in brand new Duracell batteries (1.67 volts on my meter) and the display showed again… for one day. Then it went dark again. I opened it and checked the batteries again. One was still at 1.66v, but the other had dropped to 1.54v. So I put in two fresh batteries to see if that made a difference. Nope - still no display. Long story short (too late for that?) I looked for information about making a warranty claim. It wasn’t easy to find on Amazon, but I finally got the contact info from Amazon’s AI chatbot. Here it is if you need to contact them: https://temppro.com/pages/contact I called the number and after listening to all the choices, I pressed 6 to speak to an agent. She was very pleasant and helpful. She asked a few questions to identify the order number, the product and about the issues I was having with it. Then she said a new sensor would be sent to me right away. I’m very pleased with the great customer service! I’d suggest registering for the free three year warranty offer because from my experience, you may likely need it. Pros: Low price, solid build, great customer service Cons: accuracy, working life
