This is my first bluetooth meat probe. It is very accurate and easy to use. For the price it is worth it. One word of warning, do not use this in temperatures over 500. This is annotated in the instructions, I can't remember the exact temp you can't go over but it's there. I accidently went over it and customer service worked out a deal for me. I've been smoking meat for a while and the quality is worth it. It's accurate at reading temperature and the alarm is worth it. Right now, I am currently using it to smoke my first brisket and the magnet allows me to hang it right on my smoker and still get a good reading.

I have about 5 uses of this and have found the temp probe accuracy in the meat to be spot on with my instant read Thermapen. The ambient temp reading is extremely helpful to measure the temp inside the grill. My Traeger is way off on the temp setting and this helps to dial it in with an accurate temp read. The Bluetooth interface is a easy to use although the range isn't very big. You can't get too far away with your phone. Battery life is good and I have gotten multiple cooks out of one charge.

I own a Meater+ which has been rife with issues. The probe won't hold a charge and eats AAA batteries, connecting their probe is problematic every single time, and I was fed up with it enough that I bought a Thermopro wireless. Right out of the box, it's not a pretty as the Meater, but I love that it has an internal rechargeable battery. The app setup is easy and seamless, connecting the probe is super easy and once paired, the probe connects without issue. The probe stays connected throughout the cook, which the meater never did. The only thing the Meater does that I can't find yet on the thermopro is factor in resting times to the desired temps. That's easily corrected by taking whatever you're cooking off the heat source a few minutes early. Not a big deal. Overall, I like this device a lot and I can't wait to use it more now that grilling season is coming!

These spikes work great, but for some reason I have had two of them become unable to pair with my phone. Normally I would leave a 1 star review, but in this case, I’m leaving a 5 star. Customer service is reason. When I called, I wasn’t given a run around. I told them the problem, and they immediately said, “I’m sending you a new one.” This was when the u it was 6 months old, so most companies wouldn’t give you the time of day at that point.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I doubt it. I will stand by my words that thermoworks crap has always been overrated. I bought this temp spike in July 2023 and have used it a dozen times, none of them satisfactorily. After initial charging I smoked a pork loin and realized the ambient temp was incorrect with no means of calibration. Within a week I tried to utilize this junk again only to find that the probe battery was weak, after only four hours of use? Reverted to my wired thermometers and charged the temp spike. Next use within a week on poultry with several issues of connectivity between the spike and the base, also probe battery was weak. Now it's late October, charged all night only to find the probe battery weak after a couple hours into beef short ribs. I have used this worthless junk at least a dozen times and have never been happy with it even once. It's always something. My advice to any friend of mine would be to run away from thermoworks products and don't look back. I've had a letdown over energy product that I've ever purchased from them and will end the suffering right now. ******UPDATE!******* Although my initial assessment that Thermoworks products are overrated still stands, I would like to commend the customer service I have received from Intek. After my initial review they contacted me and we have come to an amicable agreement regarding this matter. My advice to friends at this point would be to go ahead and give it a try with full confidence that if it isn't right, they will make it right.

the spike works as advertised. very good product. accurate. easy. connected easy. app very easy to use. the spike probe battery lasted about 20 hours for me. better than i expected. if you are smoking meat longer than that, may consider a backup probe to finish job. other than that, great product. i own other thermo products. they are the best out there.

This is a top notch product all the way around. The App was easy to load and has many interesting features including useful, easy-to-understand graphics. The feature I liked the best is the "ambient" temperature information, including high and low setpoints. This is probably available on similar wireless models but this is the first time I've had one with this feature. This info (ambient temp) allowed me to verify my built in thermometer was correct and the high alarm feature allowed me to stay inside and not constantly check the BGE temperature during the cook. The graphics of the internal temperature (with alarms also) was very good and informative with just a glance (good Human-Factors graphics engineering) using both colors, digital readout and graphs to display information. The holding/charging box for the thermometer is sturdy with an eclectic design. The thermometer itself is sturdy and long (which is very useful for thicker meats). The only mistake I made was not charging it before use. Nonetheless, it charged in about 30 minutes which allowed me to use it shortly after putting the meat on the grill. I would recommend this product to anyone who roasts meat, particularly on an outdoor grill.

This product with its app works great and can allow you to set alarms for certain temps and many other functions. Only negative I have is sometimes using the app and checking on temp. It will show disconnected for a minute or two but always connects back.
