The media could not be loaded. We have a fire pit on our deck, but the heat seems to go straight up in the air. I ordered this to provide radiant heat to supplement the fire pit. Although it is still 90 degrees outside, I was able to test all functions of the heater and remote in my dining room. It definitely puts out a lot of heat and the oscillating feature is great to provide heat to a larger area. The instructions were definitely not the best, but I really didn't need them to assemble and use the heater. I found the controls easy to use and the lighted heat level dial to be helpful. I do wish the light would go off after 30 seconds or so, but it's really no big deal. However, I did find the master on/off switch to be inconveniently positioned at the bottom of the heater near the base. It would have been better to locate it in the middle or top of the tower. Another small gripe is the screws that are used to attach the heat guard to the heater. They only go in part way until they stop. I finally got them fully set using a phillips head driver with a longer shank and handle. All in all, I really like this heater and the fact that it is waterproof makes it great for outdoor use.     • Is going to work great in my garage
We use the garage to hang out sometimes, and we got this to prepare for the colder months. This will make it very nice to be out there in a non-insulated space for a few hours at night. It will be safe to use and it won't cause a fire or anything.

The media could not be loaded. This device is super compact and after you screw in the handle, easy and portable. It gets super hot super fast, so will be perfect for the patio in the winter. Getting the remote open to put in the two AAA batteries is a little bit of a pain, so make sure you have a teeny phillips screwdriver handy. Otherwise, I really like this unit! ... show more
