Tetrafauna ReptoFilter Cartridges are disposable filter cartridges full assembled and ready to use. The filter cartridges use dense, dual-sided mesh to catch debris and waste while the Ultra-activated carbon absorbs odors and discoloration. Whisper filtration technology keeps your water crystal clear while removing odor and discoloration. Each cartridge is filled with Ultra Activated carbon which absorbs odors and discoloration. These convenient, pre-assembled and easy to use. The medium cartridges fit 90 GPH, 10i filter, decorative reptofilter and viquarium filters. For optimal water quality, change cartridge every 28 days (or sooner if water begins to back flow over the filter cartridge, a sign of a clogged cartridge).

Maybe I'm daft, but I've been using these things for about 6 years now (love them - they keep my 3 striped mud turtle & stinkpot/musk turtle tanks nice & clean), but I just realized that those clips on the top of the bags actually come off. What their description doesn't say is that you can take the plastic "skeleton" insert out, turn the whole thing inside out & wash it. Do this over a bowl though, the little black carbon pellets will come out - which means you can replace those & save a ton of money. Instead of replacing the whole filter every 4 weeks like they suggest, wash it out, and only replace it when the bag is falling apart. ... show more

These are on my monthly subscription list for my red ear slider. I've used different filters in the past and have always come back to these. Our turtle is 10 years old and full water change is every 3 weeks. I do run 2 filters in his tank. There is no smell what so ever coming from the tank and most of the waste is trapped in the filters. ... show more
