    • Great quality basic detector
It is high quality detector. All is pretty basic, but does everything supposed to do very well. It is fairly accurate with VDI numbers and goes really deep for this type of detector. Search coil is very accurate as well and allows pretty good separation of targets because of small size. I tend not to use that much discrimination because it really affects the performance. VCO takes a little to get used to, but once you get it, it is great. 2 things that I did not like. It does not have a volume control. Volume is extremely loud for using it without headphones. It does not have a volume control, so forget about using it without headphones. With headphones, it is not as loud, and certainly you can adjust volume of your headphones to make it right. The second thing is the depth indicator. It is very poor. It only shows 3 levels of depth. Since the machine knows what depth actual target is, it would be much nicer to show actual depth in inches or cms as most detectors do. Of course there are several things which this detector does not have, such as pinpointing and ground balance, but I even hunted in black wet sand, and it worked fine. I have owned some very nice detectors in my years, Tesoro,Fisher,Bounty Hunter....so I decided to give a Teknetics a try...all of my previous detectors were much more expensive. The eurotek has performed extremely well...very fast reset speeds and better, much better depth than I expected from such a budget detector. I truly believe that if you are looking to get into metal detecting this will put a smile on your face. I am so happy with mine I am retiring my Bounty Hunter and my Fisher...and keeping my Tesoro for small gold...hard to beat a Tesoro on small gold. I honestly believed that when I bought this detector I would be sending it back (by the way I bought from Kellyco,30 day return policy no questions) anyway I am 100% satisfied with my Eurotek and Teknetics has probably got my business for life...buy one try it out.. ... show more
