My ex roommate has the 2.0 version of this and I remember her saying she paid a lot for it. So when it was time for me to get a new one I looked into the ChiLava 2.0 and yeah it's still expensive but I loved the way it made my hair so smooth. I took a gamble and got the OG ChiLave and yes it is still good. The only reason I am bumping it down a star is there is not temp adjustment so it is straight 425 when you turn it on. Which is a disadvantage for the girlies who like to adjust the heat (it does heat up quickly tho). The cord is also super long too I was surprised at how long it was. So that's a blessing and a curse. Yes you can move around with it if you need to but its more to trip over or untangle. Overall I would recommend if you do not mind one temp flatirons, but I do not recommend if you like to adjust the temp of heat. I bought it on sale for $60 and think it is worth the price especially since I was able to get it at a discount. ... show more

definitely a good straightener but i just wish you could adjust the heat setting. the only button/switch thats on there is an on and off switch. no heat setting buttons or anything and im pretty sure its very hot so if youre looking for something that doesnt apply that much heat then this product is not for you ... show more

I purchased this because it showed up on several “best flat iron” lists. It is the worst flat iron I’ve ever used, and I have had numerous flat irons over the years. A complete waste of money. I knew when I bought it that there was no temperature control, but I didn’t expect it to be so hot! It didn’t make my hair smooth and shiny. It just made it look damaged and over processed. It is hard to use because the whole thing gets so hot that there is no place to hold it for better control. I stopped using it and purchased a Remington for half the price and it works much better. I am done relying on “best of” lists. They have to be paid shills because this flat iron is terrible. ... show more
