Installation was pretty straight forward. I wanted to mount this into a wooden panel next to my door so I didn't use the double sided adhesive tape that it came with. There was just a minor problem. Even though it came with the mounting screws and plastic anchors, the back panel did not have pre-drilled holes. There's a small slot on the bottom where you can use a flat head screwdriver or some plastic tool to push in a little to pop open the back. I drilled two holes in the back and it was ready to be mounted. Snap it back from top to bottom. The doorbell transmitter has a big button to push and a single CR2032 battery installed already. Just need to pull the plastic tab off before use. The receiver will need to be plugged into a wall outlet. It's pretty small and shouldn't take up more than one outlet. It has various chimes to select from and also allows you to turn on/off the blue light. The volume is adjustable and loud enough to hear in the house. This shouldn't be a problem for most people, but for those without a drill and want to mount this, it can be a problem. I suggest having some pre-drill holes or a cutout made to have it be punched out easily. This gives the user an option to mount using screws since that's already provided in the package.

I bought this as a trial to use in my classroom. I was originally gonna use it for transitions, but I wound up putting the button outside my door and it is SO much better than people banging on my door all day! Definitely recommend for teachers! The volume is really great levels, it’s easy to hear, and it is simple to change the tone.

Great price and function for such a compact unit. It was easy to install and what I like about it is that the only thing that uses a battery is the actual doorbell button. The "base" unit just plugs in. Good find!

Dies what it is supposed to do. Nice clear sound. Easy to push. Strong adhesive patch easily attached directly to my metal front door. I'm not worried about it hurting the finish. Function is more important. I got the black because it stands out better against my white door.
