  • Great value! Perfect for gaming!
Capacity: 512GB Style: Advanced (AX2)
I wanted to wait a while to give this review as prolonged use would be the best way to test it. With that said, it's been a few months now and so far it has been great! My read and write speeds are fast and about what you would expect from any typical SSD. I moved all my games from my HDD to this new SSD and have noticed significantly faster loading times, and no stutter or lag whatsoever. I also bought an external case to use this in and can plug into my laptop. It fit snuggly in the case and works well for what I need it for, which is mostly as quick load storage for my Steam games. It runs silently and operating temps are maybe only a couple of degrees higher than my room temp. For the price, this is absolutely worth it! The performance/storage to value makes it an easy choice. ... show more

  • Hard working hard drive!
Capacity: 512GB Style: Advanced (AX2)
I needed a new hard drive and this was a life saver, at the right price. This has been in my Frankenstein build for a long time and just keeps on working without issue. It replaced a name brand drive and I may never go back to name brand drives now!

  • Good Secondary drive
Capacity: 512GB Style: Advanced (AX2)
I bought this to use as a secondary drive for some more space as the NVMe drive on my gaming laptop runs Windows and is only 258gb. So I can't tell you how well it boots or runs windows. I won't post any CrystalDiskMark scores because what we really want is real world usage and nobody really gets those scores. Easy to install other than a few broken fingernails getting the back of the laptop off. Cmos disk error on reboot because I disconnected the battery during install but Windows fixed on reboot. Used the disk manager to initialize and allocate to drive D. I'm posting some screenshots. C is my Windows Hynix NMMe drive. D is the Teamgroup AX 512gb SSD drive and E is my microSD card. Copying 160gb from my SD card to the Teamgroup drive took about 40 minutes. Not bad considering it was coming from a flash that doesn't read so fast. The Desktop (C) to Data were a windows 10 and 11 ISO files. The D to New folder is an example copying a file from D to D, in which it has to read and write at the same time. So there is some examples of real-world use. Speeds will vary depending on if you're copying from another drive, flash drive or within the drive as you can see. Fastest speed I saw was 450 mbps. Overall, I'm more than happy with it. Considering I was getting write times in the 20s and 30s on my SD card this is super-fast. Would I have gotten faster speeds if I had bought a WD, Crucial or Samsung? Maybe. But not enough to justify the extra money. As far as longevity is concerned, let's just say that I've never had a drive fail on me since I began using computers in the 90s. So take this for whatever it's worth. Good deal at $28. ... show more

  • The Upgrade That Made My Computer Feel New Again
Capacity: 512GB Style: Advanced (AX2)
If you are still running on an old hard drive, swapping to this TEAMGROUP AX2 512GB SSD feels like flipping a switch. Boot times are faster, programs open quicker, and everything just feels more responsive. It is a simple 2.5 inch SATA III drive, so it works great for upgrading older laptops or desktops without getting into complicated installs. The 512GB size is a nice middle ground too. Plenty of space for everyday use without paying for more than you need. It runs quietly, stays cool, and just does its job without drama. If your computer has been feeling sluggish, this is one of the easiest ways to fix that. ... show more

  • Purchase 2 TeamGroup SSD drives. Both FAILED within 4 months!
Capacity: 1TB x 2 pack Style: Advanced (AX2)
Be VERY CAREFUL if using these for important data. I ordered a 2 pack in September of 2025 to use for light data storage. The performance of the drives were fine, right up until BOTH of them died at the same time (within 4 months of purchase). Since both drives were storing the same data (and I didn't get around to creating a full backup yet) I lost all the data and it is unrecoverable. Tried using different SATA Cables, different power cables, a SSD to USB adapter, putting them in a different computer, etc. Not even the bios recognizes there is a drive attached. I understand that SSD drives do fail, but I've been using different brands for years and years and never had one fail. To have 2 fail so soon after purchasing causes me to believe the Teamgroup SSD drives are cheaply designed and not made to last. I reached out to Teamgroup and explained the issue. To their credit they replied wtihin a day and gave me the RMA form to fill out. Keep in mind, when doing an RMA, you have to pay for shipping, and you will have to wait for weeks for them to review and replace/return. Given current SSD prices (over 250% higher now than when I purchased 6 months ago), I can't just order a couple of replacements for the time being so I am dead in the water. I explained this to teamgroup support, but there are apparently no exceptions, just pay and wait. Let my experience be a WARNING if you are considering these. The price on these are generally very competitive, but if reliability of your data is important to you, I would have a hard time recommend TeamGroup SSDs. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars for a more reliable brand. ... show more
