I bought a bunch of these for my work. I bought these primarily because of the price, but also brand recognition and USB 3 capability. I don't like the idea of buying a storage device from an unknown (possibly dubious) company, and TeamGroup is a reputable and fairly recognizable brand in PC circles. These are reasonably fast, not blazing fast like one of the devices that are advertised for speed, but they're definitely USB 3 fast. I bought a 10-pack, and I haven't opened and used all of them yet but the few I have used are working perfectly as expected. I really like the size, shape and cap-less design, but why on earth is there no hole for a lanyard??? The drive is slippery to hold, and would benefit from being attached to something.

Solid 100MB/s read and 35MB/s write. First few hundred MB get either cached or use different flash as they go about 80MB/s, this fools most synthetic benchmarks. After that you get steady 32-35MB/s. Good but not great. For $8 apiece I can't complain. To get next level of write speed you have to cough up $10-20 more. Time will tell how long they last. ... show more

Certainly a performer at this price point. Even better numbers with 1Gb file test 167Mb read and 104 Mb write. It is pretty normal for a 128Gb USB disk to show only 115Gb. Manufacturer tricks of 1000Mb vs 1024Mb counts and other gimmicks. They all do it

The idea is good in that you can visually see when space is running low by looking at the drive rather than checking properties. Potential "flaw" is 350 mb is reserved for and treated as a CD drive. This runs an app to drive the light at the end of the drive. The app could be targeted for malware/virus.
