This is a nice looking soft and highly flexible hose expands in 3-4 times under the water pressure. This helps keep it well organized if not in use, also you may easily walk or roll garden cart over it. However, it would be a bad idea to keep the hose on the sun and under pressure for a long time since latex may not withstand these conditions. At the same time, if by any chance, you forget to take it away in a cold weather, freezing water would not ruin it as it happened with my regular hoses on many occasions. If one understands these limitations, this product is real joy to have. It is a very well built hose with high quality sprayer and brass connectors. In summary: This product is not a replacement for regular garden hose and should be used as intended. If your task is watering your garden, vases or pots standing on your porch or deck and do it in style, this expandable water hose is the one to consider. ... show more

Style: 100FT Hose
I really like these collapsible hoses for certain applications. This one claims to be super tough, but only time will tell that. Even the cheapos look good when you first get them. It doesn't feel cheap, but again, only time will tell. There are pros and cons to this type of hose vs traditional. The biggest is weight. This one is 100' and it is feather light in my hand. Anyone can tote this thing around. A big con is that they aren't their full length when there is no water in them. They're growers, not show-ers. The build up of pressure from the water is what causes them to expand. When you turn them off and drain them, they shrink back up. This is a good feature in some ways and bad in others. For instance, collapsing down on it's on makes it easier to move around. Conversely, you can't leave them fully extended for applications like watering the lawn. If you need to hook multiple hoses together to reach a far away part of your lawn to water, these are great as far as weight. However, because of it's capacity to contract, it's not going to reach the furthest area till it has water in it, which adds weight. This means you also won't be able to leave it sitting there and turn it on and off to water. If you turn the pressure off, the hose is going to contract and pull your sprinkler out of the ground or your tripod back toward your tap. There are things that mitigate this. For instance, there is a brass ball-valve. You can shut this off so you're not being sprayed in the face by a sprinkler and as the water hose expands, drag it to where you want it. It still remains comparatively light weight if you do this. Even full of water, it weighs less than a traditional hose. The downside being that you'll have to turn the knob on the ball valve and run. The ball-valve itself is an issue for me. I've had those break many times over the years when I buy them separately for applications. The handle is brass as well, not plastic, which helps, but if it breaks in a way where the handle spins, but the ball valve stays shut, then the hose is ruined. You can't cut the bad part off and add a new end like a traditional hose. Also, the extension of the hose, like I said, depends on the pressure of the water build up in it. I haven't used it for this application yet, but I suspect that if you use a pressure washer with this hose, it'll draw water through it fast enough to reduce the pressure and cause it to begin contracting and shrinking. I don't know that, but it's definitely something I'll be looking at. So the pros of this hose are light weight and portability. I think the benefits of a standard hose are reparability, durability, and full extension. It's not a replacement so much as an alternative that's better for certain situations. It's definitely worth having, but I won't be getting away from traditional hoses just yet. ... show more

    • Started leaking - completely unusable

This product started showing issues after couple of issue where it would not shrink or expand as expected, and now after a couple of months of occasional use for gradening, it started leaking about few feet away from the nozzle. The leak grew very fast it is completely unusable where all the water leaks and nothing goes to nozzle. I cannot see what is going at the place of leak, but it appears to be leaking from about span of 7-8 inches of hose. I tried to contact product support through Amazon, I received a message back saying "..message cannot be delivered...". I am disappointed with this purchase. Update 11/01/2022: Changing the rating to 4 star as the seller is offering to refund or replace the defective item. ... show more

Style: 50FT w/Sprayer
I've purchased some of the all-black flexible hoses in the past and this brand with the orange strand seems much better quality. The others were thin and the connections at the ends were short plastic. This hose is connected with brass and a longer covering to help with bending that can occur when you pull on the hose. This is a decent price for the 50ft hose and sprayer, especially given it's higher quality than some of the other hoses out there. Pros: - Thicker material on outside to protect from steps and corners - Shutoff valve at sprayer outlet - Good sprayer that hasn't leaked after multiple uses - I could be wrong, but it seems the inside diameter is wider, letting in more water at a higher pressure than other's I've had. - Lightweight and easy to carry and stow Cons: - Hose needs water pressure to come to full length, so it's hard to get the hose to where you want before turning water on. This could be a pro/con since it's much smaller than traditional hoses when not in use and there's a shutoff valve at the end. - This is a general con for all flexible hoses. I have yet to find a flexible hose that has the same water volume as a traditional garden hose. It can impact how far sprinklers can spray. Overall, this is a good value for what you get. It's better quality than other's I've purchased and works well for watering plants, filling buckets, and other general tasks around the yard. ... show more
