I feel like you can see the actual color of the blades in this picture. A little darker than we expected but still works great for us. This fan comes with a remote control with 6 fan speeds and 3 timer settings. We have it in a room that's roughly 225sqft and it keeps the room cool on a medium speed. The light is bright and will light up the entire room but is a yellow light. Again, fine with us but was expecting more of a white light from the pictures. UPDATE: Removing stars. Guess what, the remote is lost! A lot sooner than I anticipated. That’s having toddlers for ya. Since the fan resets to the “bright white” when you flip the light on and off rapidly (you know, like kids do), I now have a surgical white looking light with useless fan in my kids room. Boo. The fan moves air really well and was plenty easy to install. I wish the fan had some more flexibility and that brings me to personal gripes. With a few fixes this could be a great product. 1. The fan doesn’t have an option for people who have separate light and fan switches. I am forced to use their “box” that could break sometime down the road, and also have to keep track of their remote that I bet will be impossible to replace if it ever breaks or is lost. 2. The light on the fan is….. well, it’s BRIGHT. I mean, you could do surgery under the light this thing provides. It’s way too much for the size room the fan should be used in. I mean no kidding, I don’t want to have the light on with my kid laying down under it it’s that bright Overall, i’d be happier if it could dim and had the choice to use a two switch install and have some pull cords like the old fashioned fans had. Installation to make it work with a wall fan control was not easy and instructions on the manual even for a very good and seasoned handyman was insufficient. The fan itself is pretty and very low profile but there isn’t too much variation in actual strength in the wind it produces.
