I did a lot of research before buying, including perusing Amazon reviews and having GROK AI do a comparison. I settled on this model, for a few reasons. 1) There were no complaints about the magnetic plug coming out. It does have one as a safety feature, and it sits solidly in the unit with no issues. 2) It's not digital. Yes, I looked at the super-fancy Breville, but a review from a chef advised that all of its digital presets were not accurate. So we went for a simpler, cheaper setup. 3) It has a great cookbook that tells you what settings to use. So far we've tried okra, eggplant and chicken. 4) The oil filtration setup. We did our research and of course said "NO" to using seed oils (seriously, why even suggest that?!). We settled on refined coconut oil, which is solid at room temp. This is very healthy and we've had zero issues with smoking, even though we've had it at the highest temp. 5) Everything is dishwasher safe. So last night, after making eggplant and chicken for stir fry (yum!), we let the oil cool for several hours and hit the filter setting before heading to bed. This morning, I dropped the oil pan, the lid (which keeps you from making a mess while cooking) and the basket into the dishwasher. Easy peezy. We're really happy with it so far! ... show more

Can not gush enough over this tool. It makes fantastic fried food, no wasting oil! Unbelievably easy to clean and doesn’t leave the mess all over the stove regular frying does!! Cooks about 4 large chicken legs at a time, about 18 mins to fry to ready. Heats up fairly quickly and stays at temp well. Drains and filters the oil and then all the pieces clean right up either hand wash or dishwash!! The only downside is trying the pour the oil back into the cooking tub, the container easily pops open on the sides and oil goes everywhere. I’ve learned to carefully hold the container on both sides to secure the top before pouring out the drain plug. We have done shrimp, onion rings, pork tenderloins, chicken legs and chicken wings. All came out perfect in no time. 100% recommend! ... show more

I purchased the 1 liter mini deep fryer. This fryer is surprisingly excellent. The oil heats up fast and most importantly, the unit holds the temperature really well. As far as the size, I don't think you'll be able to submerge a large chicken wing or large leg. However, if you are frying up fish, shrimp, small veggies, hash browns, this unit will serve you well. I've fried several pieces of battered fish with this unit and my fish came out immaculate. To clean the unit is very easy because the heating element is contained under the non-stick tub. Remove the hinge lid (it pops out). Wash the lid. And for the cooking unit, *DO NOT* submerge it. Fill the deep fry tub halfway with some soapy water, wash, and then rinse the tub out. You can rinse the tub under the faucet but don't submerge the entire unit in water. Wipe the outside with a damp soapy rag. I reach for this unit very often over my large deep fryer because of the efficient oil usage and quick clean up. I will be purchasing another one of these. These little guys can fry. ... show more

I bought this to replace my Emeril deep fryer by T-Fal. I assumed they were the same or very similar appliances since they are both made by the same company. Easy to use. Works as it should. Large capacity. I love that you can drain the oil fir cleaning. The only reason why I gave it four stars was because it seems incredibly flimsy, there is no indicator light to show the oil is to temp, and there is no timer. I should have read the description more carefully. ... show more

Love this Fryer, well worth the money! Easy to clean, Has a built in Filter to filter Oil, and all the part are Dishwasher Safe (excluding Heating Element of course) Have made fish and fries so far! With batter you must take more care in how you drop food item so batter doesn't get into the mesh of the food Basket, but, once you figure that out, cooks amazingly great food! this fryer is well made, easy to clean and a joy to cook with! ... show more

In this day and age of Air Fryers that come in every size and color imaginable, sometimes grease is good! This is a large, high quality deep fryer that has great capacity and large cooking basket. The oil containment system makes clean up a breeze and allows multiple uses of the same oil. It strains solids, reaches temp quickly and serves up a nice even frying experience. We've cooked mushrooms, onion rings, fries, shrimp and chicken to perfection (in moderation of course). It does take up space so you need to have room for storage when not in use. Loving it so far, I especially love the filter and automatic drain. After that. I love that it is very responsive in it's thermal control. My last deep fryer would cool when I dropped food in and take a while to heat up again. This fryer quickly gets back up to temperature. As far as complaints... I am hoping the company recognizes one thing and improves... Can you make the tub deeper? The max fill line is just simply too low. It's pretty large already anniversary hate to say "make it bigger," because the larger the tub, the larger the reservoir/drain pan needs to be. But if you like massive chimichangas like I do, its not deep enough to submerge. If the width were narrower and the fryer were taller, I know people might complain it's big. But only having an inch of usable oil is not really enough. It also leaks occasionally... Might be the way I pick it up... If you shake it around, it will most definitely make a mess, but even when I move it very carefully it can leave spots of oil to clean up. I most definitely recommend it, there's nothing like it, but I do hope improvements are made and I can continue to buy future fryers from them. ... show more
