  • Well made. Should last many years with the proper use and care.
Size: 5 Quarts Style: Nonstick
The T-fal 12" Deep Everyday Pan with Lid, model #: A8428464 (Discontinued by manufacturer) is well made and I expect it to last for many years given proper use and care. I am guessing that most of the negative feedback regarding warping is from overheating the pan. The only drawback that I've noticed to date is that it slides too easily across a glass top stove. I hope that the following answers some of the questions that you may have. *Manufactured in China. *Non-stick interior. *Non-stick exterior. *Silicone handles (Oven safe to 350°F/175°C). *Tempered glass lid with steam vent. Use and care instructions before first use. *Wash in warm soapy water, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. *It is recommended to "season" the pan prior to its first use. To season, wash the pan thoroughly and dry. Heat pan on low for 30 seconds, remove from heat and put one tablespoon of cooking oil in pan. Rub oil over the entire surface of the pan with a paper towel. Repeat every 10 dishwasher cycles or if accidental overheating occurs. General recommendations *Use only low to medium heat only (including to boil water). High heat will damage the pan. *Never let the pan boil dry and never leave an empty pan on a heated burner. *Never cut food directly in the pan or gouge the non-stick surface. *Non-stick cooking sprays are not recommended and and can leave an invisible buildup on the surface that will affect the pans non-stick properties. *Let the pan cool before cleaning to prevent warping caused by extreme temperature shock. *Avoid any extreme temperature changes. *Wooden or plastic utensils are recommended. Oven and broiler use *Always use potholders when moving the pan in and out of the oven. *This pan is oven safe to 350°F/175°C. *Do not use this pan under the broiler. Helpful hints on lid use *When removing the lid during cooking, tilt the lid to direct the steam away from you to avoid burns. *Keep hands and face away from the steam vent. *Do not place a hot lid under cold water as the temperature change may cause the glass to break. Handles *Handles can become very hot under certain conditions. Always use potholders when taking in and out of the oven. Cleaning *Hand-washing the pan and lid is recommended (Because of the short handles, it easily fits in the sink). *Always wait for the pan and lid to cool before washing to prevent warping (This is extremely important). *Wash pan and lid in warm, soapy water using a cloth or soft sponge. *Never clean with abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, scouring powder, steel wool or oven cleaner. *This pan can be cleaned using a dishwasher but remember to re-season with cooking oil after every 10 dishwasher cycles. ... show more

  • Perfect size. Reasonable quality for cost.
Size: 5.3 Quarts Style: Specialty Ceramic
Nice but skillet. Not heavy weight but handles high heat and frequent use. Easy to clean, provided you avoid metal utensils. Hold no taste it flavors after a variety of different uses (hash browns, curry, taco meat, veggies). The temp sensitive TFal symbol doesn't seem to change color, but I don't use it anyway. ... show more

  • Really solid everyday pan.
Size: 5.3 Quarts Style: Specialty Ceramic
First thing this is bigger than you might think. 12" isn't the standard of you look at stock pots or dutch ovens. Those are usually 10". So you could easily do 4 pork chops at once in this. Next, when you see those commercials where eggs are sliding out of the pan and they're melting candy without it sticking, they're obviously bogus. I spent 12 years cooking in restaurants and this is the closest thing I've seen to that in real life. It's honestly too nonstick. If you want any kind of fond you're not going to get it with this. When you put oil out butter it just beads up. It's the most nonstick pan I've ever used. For that reason I would follow the directions and not put it higher than medium heat. I seared the Christmas roast in this before a long sous vide and at medium it got cast iron brown. I would be scared to put this on high heat. Overall this is a very useful and somewhat remarkable pan with excellent size. ... show more

  • my favorite pan
Size: 5 Quarts Style: Nonstick
I love this pan and have been using it for a few years now. It's lightweight, easy to clean, cooks well, non stick works well. The rubber handles are great for moving the pan without pot holders. Hold heat evenly and really well. Not for a certain ovens - so check before buying. You'll notice most of the bad reviews for this product are because of shipping damage, people not using it correctly, using metal utensils on it, or buying it for the wrong oven - noneof which actually refers to the pan itself. This is always the pan I grab first. Also - I 've given it as a gift several times and it becomes their favorite pan as well...always. I have purchased a few more pieces also because the Tfal is just so easy to work with.. ... show more

I too got one that was out of round and since it was not a true circle, the top didn't fit.

  • Outstanding multipurpose pan!
Size: 5 Quarts Style: Nonstick
This 12" everyday pan from T-fal exceeds my expectations. I love the handles having a heat safe covering, a feature difficult to find on a pan like this. The instructions say you can use the pan itself in the oven to 350 degrees F, but this is not a pan I would ever consider for the oven. If you're looking for a pan to put in the oven this may not be the choice for you with the covered handles (I recommend cast iron for combo of stove and oven cooking if you've got the strength for it). If you just want to use it on your stove top I highly recommend this pan. I have substantial injuries to my upper body and some carpal tunnel as well. What I was most pleased with was that the pan is substantial, but light. The lid is definitely the heavier of the two pieces, but not horribly heavy by any means. It cooked quite evenly and cleaned up like a breeze using one of those newer silicone "sponges" for dishes. I also like the cool touch handles and the matte finish on it very much. The small vent in the lid is a nice touch as well. I feel it's an affordable item for those who want consistent results in their cooking coupled with easy clean up. Recommended! ... show more
