I have a 2016 limited with JBL. I have had a lot of issues with the OEM Radio, mostly around Bluetooth connection and call quality. I finally had enough. In addition I had a rental car recently that had CarPlay and I loved it! The Sygav Android 11 is a fantastic radio. It was easy to install and works perfectly. Sound quality is very good. Connection to our phones was easy. Before making my purchase I read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research. Based on some of the negative reviews, Sygav must be continuing to learn and upgrade these units based on feedback which is a good thing. - product was well packaged when it arrived - there was a quality check label included in the box - there is an owners manual in the box. English translation is poor though, but easy enough to figure out. - the JBL system only supplemental harness was in its own bag and clearly labeled - no detailed installation instructions but follow the video on the Amazon item page and it’s easy. Only issue I had was getting a piece of the cars trim back in properly but not really radio related - all buttons on the steering wheel worked perfectly including the phone call buttons. I didn’t have to program them - Factory USB and Aux both work perfectly. They also provide a cable that adds 2 more USB Ports but decided not to use them since my wife would hate exposed wires. - I placed the external mic hidden behind the HVAC panel and sound quality for calls is great. Also sending messages in CarPlay with Siri is well understood so the mic on the front of the unit must work well - unit boots up quickly. Reverse camera comes on even if it is in boot up or when the unit is turned off, which is great! - all car config functions are still available. Even unique ones like power tailgate opening height were all retained - tire pressures are now accessible to me, although in KPa not PSI. No biggie to me still an improvement over nothing that Toyota gives us access to. - you will lose the compass on the instrument panel with this unit. Also you will lose the audio display screen on the dash. Also if your car has Easy Speak, you will lose that function. None of these matter to me though. - the apps on the system could be configured a little better. The Zlink app that you use for CarPlay is several pages back but should be up front. I know these are configurable but I have to figure out how to do that. Overall extremely pleased with the Sygav unit. I’m looking forward to learning more about all the other functions to unlock the full potential. I also hope the unit proves reliable.

Ordered this some time ago, and most of the time it was serviceable. Positives: it looks great, like it was from the factory. It was pretty easy to install. Negatives: the included microphone is garbage and cannot be used. Everyone I spoke to commented on how terrible the audio was on my end, to the point that I would carry my AirPods and pop one in if I ever had to take or make a call. Terrible. The connectivity is inconsistent; while the majority of the time it would be ok, sometimes it would connect and quickly disconnect, or just not connect at all, leading to time consuming reconnection procedures. Annoying, it not a dealbreaker - sometimes I have similar issues with factory stereos in rental cars with Apple CarPlay. But - the back breaker, the screen started flickering over the course of a month or so and eventually just cut out completely. Now I am driving around with a big blank dead screen on my dash, making navigation a complete pain and taking away my backup camera. The audio somehow still works but the screen itself is toast. And trying to actually get connected to someone to have them make it right has been basically impossible, though that’s probably mostly an Amazon issue. Bottom line: it was ok for a while, buggy but tolerable, but it was a temporary solution unfortunately - like setting $500 on fire. There are other stereos out there that will provide a much more satisfying result, and it looks like I’m going to have to find one myself. Look elsewhere.

Installation of the head unit wasnt too difficult, definitely watch the video provided in this listing. My unit's backside wasn't exactly like the unit shown in the instructional video, but I was able to figure out where to plug in what. Once I got the unit to turn on, i did have trouble connecting android auto from my phone at first, but that was most likely because I didn't read the instruction manual. The connection works great now, my phone automatically pairs with the unit when I turn the car on. It does take a min or two to fully sync up, but its been overall reliable (not perfect though). It has a lot of cool features, including watching youtube streaming from your mobile hotspot, and picture quality is actually pretty great. Sound quality is decent. I also want to give a shout out to Sygav for replacing my head unit when the screen stopped working a few months in. I had to try fixing the problem myself with guidance from their customer support, but they do honor their warranty when I wasnt able to resolve the issue, plus they were very helpful. The replacement unit is working perfectly, connection is faster, and so is going from app to app. I'll update this review if the replacement unit also has issues within the next few months, but so far, really enjoying it. Maybe I got a faulty product the first time?

I like the easy installation, works as expected except that it looses power after a while everything is plug n play so I don't have any idea of what's causing that, besides that I like it just need to figure that out.

I'm impressed!! Not sure why all the comments about this not working in a Highlander with navigation. I just installed it in a 2019 Toyota Highlander XLE with navigation and back-up cam and everything works flawlessly. No problems whatsoever with the hazard panel - everything is flush. Installation was a breeze (I have installed a few car stereos in the past) and took about an hour with 2 kiddos interrupting/helping. We watched the video a few times and had it handy while we stepped through the process. I ordered a trim removal kit for 7.99 and taking off the dash was pretty easy. I had two cables that hooked into my original radio that didn't need to be hooked into the new one. I only had one cord left over from the new stereo kit that was unneeded for my installation - I included a pic of that one left over cord - a USB cable. Those pesky yellow clips were a bit tricky to get off, but they went onto the new radio easily and secured it into place. Grounded with one of the bolts we took out when we pulled the factory radio out. It looks absolutely beautiful! I'm delighted. I just bought this 2019 Highlander and was planning to immediately add Apple CarPlay. I was discouraged when I started looking at the name brand screens that were only 6 - 6.75" on average, and I was imagining this big black plastic frame around a little screen. This is a fantastic solution to avoid that very undesirable set-up! Not to mention it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the name brand systems I was looking at with all the required extra kits I was going to have to buy. It looks factory and the Toyota symbol comes up every time it powers up - really nice touch. Something I hadn't seen in other reviews - you have full touch screen access to all your auto settings like doors locking/unlocking upon park. I'll update if things go south. For now, I couldn't happier!!! I was nervous about the mixed reviews, but I'm so glad I took the plunge and chose this over the name brand tiny screens. Love it!!!

I have been looking a replacement radio for my vehicle a long time. Something that meet my expectation like, big screen, built-in Apple Car Play and good definition display. Definitely exceed my expectations. Installation was very easy, just need to figure it out the plugs configuration (the only hard part). The reverse camera and the steering wheel controls continue working without problems. The only complain is that you can't connect it to wi-fi and use wireless Car Play at the same time, but is due to how the wireless Apple Car Play connection works. Just turn off the radio hotspot and the wi-fi works flawless. You can continue using Bluetooth for calls and music. Aesthetically it looks OEM, the frame fits exactly the original radio dimensions. Audio quality is great. This radio saves me to buy a new car. I'll recommend.

After owning this product for almost 2 1/2 years, it is beginning to have issues (some issues existed from the beginning) 1. Takes too long to pair with my phone. 2. The bluetooth was problematic from the beginning of installation. 3. The daylight display of the screen displays static lines throughout the screen, I was forced to switch to night view in order to get a decent view of the screen. 4. It refuses to stay connected to my wifi hot spot. 5. Watching YouTube videos has unfortunately never happened, no matter what I try. 6. The glare from the screen is annoying. This product looks and fits fantastic but the technology seems questionable and honestly undesirable. I had high hopes for it, undoubtedly, it costed over five hundred dollars and I expected more. How can I possibly recommend this product to friends, co-workers, families or just a regular Joe who happen to notice the product in my car and wants to purchase one. I can't. I am too disappointed. I will not lower my values by telling a lie about a product that failed to hold its standard.

This is for a 2015 Highlander. This exceeded my expectations. Installation instructions are pretty much non existent in the included manual, but there are youtube videos to walk you through it. Install was not particularly difficult, but it does take a certain comfort level with taking your dash apart in order to properly hide all of the wires and make it look neat and professional. Once in, the fit and finish is excellent...looks stock. The screen is bright and clear. Touchscreen response is fine. The interface is a tad clunky at first but perfectly fine once you get used to it and figure out where to find certain menus/options and apps. I would definitely recommend, as it is much cheaper than an OEM head unit, retains all built in functionality (USB ports, steering wheel controls, back up camera, etc.) and truly looks and fits great. Will update if anything goes awry.
