  • Very good gps for truckers
So no gps is perfect. However after using this for a solid week it performs great. Easy to see display and easy to program for addresses. I’ve used a Garmin dzl for about 6 years and decided, mainly for the financing available from Amazon-( 5 payments no interest) to get this. I don’t like a few things like the constant 5 mile an hour over speed limit warning, but overall it’s worth the money so far. Only 6 more years and I’ll put another review- if the world is still spinning ... show more

  • Need better details in owners manual on how 🤔 to use.
It's much different from the TND 740. Much better graphics on the map. Instructions need to be more detailed. It took a little while to get used to but works great 👍

  • Completely unreliable
It seems like they didn't do any testing at all on this piece of junk. The map will tell you to go one direction while the voice guidance will say the opposite. When trying to get onto I55 N in West Memphis, it tried to get me to go left into oncoming traffic instead of taking the ramp on the right like you're supposed to. When going down interstates it constantly shows you taking exits when you aren't and it has to recalculate the route when it realizes you are still on the interstate. The TND740 always had an alternate route even though most were useless, this one hardly ever has an alternate route available. This thing is a step backwards in every way from the 740 except for the magnet mount, it hasn't fallen off once. I'm hoping they put out an update soon. ... show more

  • Updated review
I'm a local driver and I switch between tractor trailer and straight truck often. Having to go into the vehicle profile and changing it every time I switch vehicles is annoying. I wish you could add multiple vehicle profiles and just select the one that fits what you're driving like the Garmin does. There are SOME features this has that I like that Garmin doesn't. There are some features that Garmin does, but the TND does not have that I WISH it had. But a few things that really REALLY annoy me... 1) losing satellite reception regularly. 2) driving on an interstate and next thing you know, the GPS has me driving on some side street (which I'm NOT) which then displays the directions for a route that I'm NOT on. 3) when adding a via point to your destination, the ETA for arrival is for the via point, not your final destination. 4) did I mention LOSING SATELLITE RECEPTION? 5) can't connect to your phone unless you purchase a separate device, no traffic alerts unless you purchase a separate device, no weather alerts (maybe with a separate device???) 6) the bread crumb trail is too friggin wide on the screen, should you choose to record any trails for recording a visual aid for your next trip, or finding your way out of certain places. 7) did I mention that you have to purchase a separate device to use features that Garmin gives you in a FREE app??? (traffic and weather) I have had 4 commercial vehicle GPS units to date, and so far, this one is my LEAST favorite, mainly because of the constant lost GPS signal, and NO, I'm not in a city surrounded by skyscrapers when it happens. I should have returned this piece of junk within the first week of using it. ... show more

  • A work in progress.
Very nice gps but it is still a work in progress. This gps has no time zone associated with the clock or eta time. Night mode is great until the side panel comes on to show you your exit and then it is filled with bright whites yellows and greens that are full day mode at the highest setting, very distracting at night. If you send a wrong speed limit while connected to wifi the system crashes and you have to call customer service to have a file deleted so you can return the unit to a usable format. ... show more

  • Great Truck GPS
I have been a Garmin GPS person for as long as I can remember. Tried a TomTom a few years ago and hated it. Decided to get a Rand McNally and try it. I love it! Only downfall is once you go 6 miles over the speed limit it constantly tells you that you are exceeding the speed limit. Used this for a team drive from DC to San Diego. It is accurate, let's you know when there is a weigh station, truck stop and state boarders. Love the size of the screen and the functionality. Great truck GPS. ... show more

  • Product needs serious updates
I decided to get this due to my new career in Class A driving, as to where some features are great, there are some others that are serious problems. Lets start with the good: - Size of the screen is easy to use and see. They react fast and adding custom away points is easy. - Times to destination are fairly accurate. Now for the bad: - GPS maps are in serious need of updates. I go to stores, distribution centers, manufacturing plants all which have existed for well over 5+ years, and so far to date 90% of my destinations cannot be found in their Rand McNally system, I end up having to use google maps to get there, then once I am there enter a custom away point (usually says "dirt road" due to the streets not being in the system. Just for reference, Menards Stores, Honda Manufacturing Plants are several of the locations I am referring to. - GPS mount. The suction cup is about as worthless as roads made out of ice in the middle of summer. Absolutely would not stick to the window. Had to use a window glue to permanently attach it to the glass. In all I still think the unit is a good piece of tech, but honestly NOT worth the price with all the flaws. ... show more
