This works to protect my hardwood floor from the wheels of my office chair. My chair rolls just fine on it. My only complaint is that it attracts lint like crazy. I don't know where it's all coming from but it sticks to the matt like glue.

In fairness, I am still trying to smooth this flat. It was packed and shipped in a package about 8 in. X 10 in. This formed creases, 20. I'm still trying to smooth them out. But, it's only been a week of stepping on it, wetting and drying it, rolling it, letting it hang free etc. But, it also moves under my desk chair on my carpet. Is it inexpensive enough? Yes. I needed a mat to give my chair some grip on my resin floor. The mat arrived folded and not rolled. For comparison, my desktop cover arrived rolled and looks nice after resting for a day. This mat, however, does not look nice after resting. It still looks creased and wrinkled. I had 12 packs of pop along the creases all day to coax it into flattening, and it still looks as it did when first laying down. It is thinner than I expected as well, so it feels like it wants to catch and ride up into my casters. This mat also shows dirt very easily. The floor was swept, mopped and dried as instructed. My room even has a HEPA filter to minimize dust and allergens and this mat seems to attract every bit of dirt. If you don't wipe your casters off after every time your chair is off the mat, they will track dust and dirt and it will show. I regret almost everything about this purchase. The only positive is that it does give me some tooth to keep my chair where I want it. That's not enough to make it worth it. This mat makes having people in my room embarrassing and it has absolutely no rizz. ... show more

This arrived in good shape and all but they said it was 1/2 inch thick. Maybe I missed something here but this, at is 1/8" thick. It is clean, strong and looks good. Buuuuuuut YOU GUYS LIED TO ME! I am not going through all of the hassle of returning it because i need something - NOW. Yet you have lost a customer here. Unless you wish to explain this to me. Charles Post script. It would appear that I do not read English very well though I was raised here in America. The post told me that it was 1/12" thick NOT 1/2" thick.     • Sizing not accurate, difficult to roll chair on

Listing states the product is 48" x 36", this is not accurate. The actual dimensions are 47" x 35", while admittedly this is a small difference, the reason I chose this option is because it WOULD have been a perfect fit had the description been correct. However with an inch gap on all sides my application looked out of place. I verified this was not due to stretching and shrinking, both dimensions were EXACTLY 1" off on all sides. This leads me to believe this is intentional. Additionally it's pretty difficult to move an office chair on this mat while seated, I would compare it to rolling an office chair on heavily padded carpet. Note I was using mine on hardwood floors and It still takes considerable effort, and often times I opt to stand up out of the chair and move it with my hands instead of remaining seated and dragging the chair forward with my legs (like I think most do in an office chair) Overall, for $15 its not a bad value if you just need the bare minimum protection for your floors. That being said probably wouldn't buy this mat again unless I was looking for the lowest budget possible. ... show more

    • Nice desk mat, but it attracts many particles

I brought the desk mat because my chair (has wheels) was destroying the floor. After using it, it prevented further damages to the tiles, but it was collecting many particles such as dust. My chair is able to move smoothly across the surface with no resistance and the mat stayed in place 90% of the time. If your floor is squeaky, this product does not silence the sound.
