Well I was skeptical to say the least but this product came through with flying colors. Easy to put together, throw it on top of your pool cover and give it a few pumps and Wella! It siphoned all the water out from my pool cover. No electric cords I can leave it on my cover and forget about it. This is great to for anyone that may have issues when it rains in any area of your property that may get water puddles and need to get rid of it. Just brilliant!! Update: I didn't initially use the included hand pump. It seemed cheap & rinky-dink & was a pain to ttach to the hose to get the flow going. Well, I gave it a try, left it attached to the hose, & now I just squeeze the little bulb until the water starts flowing and the siphon drains the cover, no problem. I leave the pump attached and whenever I need to get the siphon started, it just takes a few squeezes. It's actually terrific. The automated solutions require a long cord attached to an outdoor outlet all the time, and the sump pumps are much heavier and could potentially rip through the cover. This one is light and easy to use. I highly recommend trying this one first. My above-ground pool is 24 feet in diameter; if you have a much bigger pool, or in-ground, where you're pumping uphill, the powered solutions might be a better option. For me, this is perfect. Okay, I didn't try one of the automated pump solutions -- the combination of wires going long-distance to the center of the pool cover to an outlet, the cost, the weight & reliability issues, just wasn't compelling. THIS thing just uses physics to drain the cover and it does an EXCELLENT job... once started. The little toy pump provided isn't impressive & I just used my mouth to get the flow started. So you need to restart it each time you have significant water buildup on the cover. But it's a few seconds and it starts right up and continues until the water has been drained. Sometimes, I have to move it around on the cover to find the deep center of a pool of water, also easy. But it's relatively light, so no cover damage. Siphoning/capillary action WORKS. Earlier, I bought a 1HP sump pump to drain the pool and I had some electrical outlet issues, so I used it as a heavy weight & a passive siphon -- same thing, just started the flow with suction & it drained and entire 24 foot pool without power to the pump until the last few inches! That pump is WAYYY too heavy to put on a pool cover, so this little SwimLine solution is PERFECT! For the price, why not? ... show more

It's the little things and this little thing has really made all the difference. I have an above ground pool circa 1987. It's still going strong but I struggle in the off season with keeping my winter cover from getting bogged down with water and ultimately draining some of the water under the cover that I want to keep. Water is expensive! Anyway, for years I've relied on an electric pool cover pump with a cut off hose attached. The hose gets rock hard in the winter months and you constantly have to keep an eye on the pump to make sure it doesn't get clogged. On a whim, I ordered this thing and I can't figure out why I didn't get it sooner. It's easy to get the water to siphon and once you do, you can go about your day. It stops automatically when the water drains out. The thick hose also stays more pliable in the colder months. I love this thing! Easy, durable, and worth every penny. This has been my best year yet with retaining water. I can't believe this simple, little pump was the missing ingredient. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. So this pool saver tool definitely works. Actively Removing water from my pool cover as I am typing this review. I have a 22ft round pool. Would appreciate a slightly longer tube to transfer the water away from my pool. Siphon was very easy to start. I did have a packaging issue though, the plastic tube was severely bent in two places. Very well engineered product. I didn't read any instructions. Slipped the pressure fit piping onto the inlet and another onto the pump thing. Put it on top of the cover, hand pumped a bit (hand pump should be a few feet below the inlet). Steady, uninterrupted flow. Great product at a great price. They need an XL model that has fatter piping to move more water faster! ... show more
