This item arrived way earlier than expected like the next day after I ordered it. In the second pic, the newer pump is the one already installed with the older model on the grass. The newer one works well, but it does sound a bit different than the older model especially because it has a fan. It's not too loud, you'll get used to it after a few days and it's only on for a certain time frame during each day, so that's ok. My husband had an ok time installing it. He had to go to Home Depot to get a longer wire for the new one. No biggie, easy installation, just follow the instructions. Overall, we're pleased with our new pump. If we weren't selling our house in a few months, we would've opted for the more expensive $1,200 better one. However, this one works fine though. It does its job. Our other pump lasted 4 yrs, hopefully this one lasts longer. Great seller. Item was packaged really well & shipped via UPS in fragile handle with care stickers all over & bubble wrapped in a solid box. Thank you. ... show more

Pentair SuperFlo High Performance Pumps 1HP EC-348190 We bought this pump to replace the old Pentair pump that was 20 years old. The pump match perfect the install went smooth. However, if I knew the pump was so loud. I would of never bought it . It's almost as loud as the old pump with bearing going out. If this is anywhere near a bedroom window don't buy it. So loud! good thing we aren't close to neighbors. I'm sure they would complain. We are going to build a sound proof box around it. Hopefully, it will help! ... show more

I ordered this pump to replace an older SuperFlo 1-speed ¾ HP unit that had failed. The motor was 5 years old, and the housing had been in service for 9 years. I'm glad I chose to replace the entire unit rather than just the motor. When I disassembled the old pump, the bolts were so corroded that one of the heads broke off. This pump is a direct replacement and matched perfectly to my existing plumbing with no modifications needed. The wiring location is different from my old unit. The previous pump had rear-mounted wiring, while this one routes through a side box on top, but the wires reached without issue. My system runs on the 230-volt setting, and I wired it the same way as before: L1, L2, and ground. I also reconnected the existing bonding wire to the side of the unit. The pump has been running flawlessly for over a week. It features a NEMA Premium Efficient motor, which is sealed and more efficient than my previous one. It’s also more powerful. The label shows 1.1 HP compared to the old 0.75 HP. I saw some reviews mentioning that this pump is noisier than older models. I wouldn’t call it noisier. It just has a different sound due to the sealed motor design. It takes a little getting used to, but I don’t find it unpleasant or disruptive. Overall, I’m very happy with this pump. The price was significantly lower than what local pool stores. I visited a few nearby shops over the weekend, but staff couldn’t even give me a price. They said I’d need to return during the week, and they’d have to order the pump, which would take over a week to arrive. This unit was delivered to my door in just three days and arrived in perfect condition. ... show more
