Not for a hamster the bars are too far apart mine squeezed her head out the bars but this would be great for Gina pigs or bunnies even birds if you did it differently

So I really love this cage. It's compact & fits nicely in a standard apt closet. Its also on wheel's! You can roll the cage, (doors open) next to the bed. Cage has top and bottom access. When you're assembling the cage be sure to carefully look over any gaps. The bottom crate & ramp's are not comfortable for your ferrets pads. You will NEED to get covers for the ramps, Standard covers will not fit these ramps, they are too small. I found some mop swifter covers at the dollar store and they are a perfect fit for these ramps. I have also had to take needle nose pliers to the ramps to keep them in place. When you get the cage set up, watch your ferret to be certain its 100% safe. This cage is NOT for baby ferrets unless you put the ramps up later. I purchased this cage for my ferret and she absolutely loves it I love it also I like the fact that she can see everybody and everything around her at all times I also love the fact that it's easy to interact with her while she's in the cage the only problem that I have is the width of each individual level. The landing platforms in the cage are just not wide enough I had to take two of them and zip tie them together so that she can have a platform to sleep on so that took away from it being a four-level cage to a three-level cage with all this extra room up top that's not being used another downfall is because of the small width of the shelves and she not having enough room she pulls all of her bedding down to the bottom floor where she uses the bathroom and gathers up all of her bedding stuff down there to where she can have room to actually lay but to me that is defeating the purpose of using the bathroom on the bottom of the cage if she's going to also feel the need to use that part of the cage as a place to sleep also. ... show more

Decent cage. A lot of the panels where warped. There are gaps around the doors. Currently using zip ties to attach a thick plastic shelf liner to the walls and shelves. It says the the space between the bars are a smidge under 1/2 inch(.47) the space is over 1/2 inch and gaps around the cage. Not good for smaller rodents. Now I’m on the hunt for a new cage already. ... show more

My 8 year old and I bought this for his two guinea pigs. They loved it once they got familiar with the three stories! It was relatively easy to put together; what I found difficult was the placement of the lower bars that held the litter box tray and lower wire floor. I ended up putting them in incorrectly then figured out there were two sections, one for the litter tray and one for the wire floor. All together it took us about an hour. Cleaning is pretty easy, trays slide out nicely. I think with guinea pigs it would be nice if the litter tray was a bit larger than the cage, just to catch the waste that falls out of the cage if they don’t go to the bathroom in the little litter box we have in with them. But overall they love it and it’s much better than the smaller cage most pet stores sell! ... show more

    • Pretty good. Some problems in transit.
If I could give it 4.5 stars I would. It arrived early with a broken box and some sort of rust/dirt soaked into the bottom. All the pieces were there, but the feet's plastic was damaged likely from some sort of dragging. Barely noticeable. The instructions on assembly are poor, but not incomprehensible. I wish it would have warned me to place the bottom rod L with the hole up so that side C would slip into it. My main problem was that my top section must have been malformed during transit because it took a friend and some muscle to bend it to fit. I guess the water bottle didn't come with the attaching wire, but I didn't buy it for the bottle. I haven't moved the pets in, so hopefully I remember to give an update that they like their new home! Overall I like the look and feel of the cage so much more than the hardwire diy cage I made for when the critters were really small. ... show more
