Went for this overpriced 1500W infrared Heater knowing full well it works exactly the same as any Chinese made 1500W infrared heater. It does use a replaceable Coated Gold Quartz/Tungsten element, while Heatstorm and Mr. Infrared run carbon elements that are not replaceable. Construction quality is solid, everything from body to mount. Remote is simple, probably same as the cheap stuff. I knew it wasn't going to make my patio air any warmer, so installed it 3 feet above my outdoor sofa, just to be able to have a smoke comfortably in the winter. It does make the seat directly under it nice and toasty, the one next to it - not so much, and it's only 4-5 feet away. Black sofa pillows would probably help, as they'd absorb more heat quicker from the light. All in all happy with a an efficient way to turn a regular 110V outlet into a little warmth. If you're looking to warm up 2 people go for the 3000W model, which requires 240V, which I cannot run in my rental unit. Just don't expect it to work as a space heater, unless you direct the infrared light at matte black radiator-like panels in an insulated room. At freezing temps outside that won't work, as they'll cool quicker than than heat up, especially with wind. Good luck staying warm! ... show more

I use this in my garage in NC to brave the extreme cold for cardio. I tried cheaper brands. I found this when I was researching commercial quality patio heaters. This is the same company that makes heaters for BigAssFans. The heat output is exceptional and the remote allows for hands free control since it’s mounted high. Product heats well, gets pretty hot and does the job for the 1/4 area of my uninsulated 2 car garage. Leave it on all night at low setting. Would be nice to have more than maybe 3 settings, but it’s good. It has on/off switch on case you misplace remote, but the unit doesn’t allow for heat settings, only on/off. So far after a couple of weeks I really like the unit and the infrared heat. ... show more

    • Packs a punch!
For a pretty small heater this puts out a lot of heat! We use it on the tripod on our back patio so we can move it around easily and we love it! It works with a regular outlet and heats up in like two seconds. Highly recommend it.

    • Instant heat!
I love the instant heat with this heater. The power output is necessarily limited (1500 Watts) in order to work with most household circuits, which is the same power output as most of the little space heaters for indoor use, but unlike those heaters, this uses infrared heat so instead of trying to heat the whole area, the heat is instantly transferred to whatever it's shining on, and you absorb more of the heat. It works really well. The remote is simple to use and allows for different levels of heat. Instead of cycling on and off, it adjusts the strength of the infrared light, so it's continuous heat at different strengths. It's good quality metal construction and comes with mounting hardware for installation. It comes with a standard plug, so no special wiring is needed. An extension cord is all you need unless it's close to an outlet already. ... show more
