  • Simple spin bike, suitable for petite riders
For the price, this is a GREAT little bike. Pre COVID, I took group spin classes at studios and my local gym several times a week. I mention my spin-class past because a lot of the other reviewers mentioned how uncomfortable the seat is and how noisy the bike is, but having ridden hundreds of other bikes... this one is totally normal! I live on the top floor of an old apartment building, and my downstairs neighbors haven't noticed the noise at all! And bike seats are always uncomfortable for your first few days spinning, then you get better. It took me about an hour to put together- it really helps if you have an electric screwdriver and you do really have to read every bit of the directions. I've been using it 4-5 times a week for a couple of weeks now (I do the Gabrielle Guevara spin classes on youtube!) and it's holding up great. Since it only weighs 60-ish lbs, I can't throw my weight around while riding like I can on bigger bikes, and I wish the handlebars were a little bulkier. I'm pretty short, too, so I'm thinking if you're over 5'4" you might need to get a bit of a bigger bike. Also, the included pedals do NOT allow you to clip in, so if you've got spin shoes you can't use them with this bike. Another complaint I saw a bunch in the reviews is that the provided pedals are flimsy. The provided pedals are solid metal with plastic cages to go over your feet. Pedals in general are really, really easy to install incorrectly and strip. So make sure to READ THE DIRECTIONS and don't tighten them too, too much. This is a great bike if you're looking for something compact and affordable to use until it's safe to return to group fitness experiences. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble, quiet, sturdy and solid.
This unit came ahead of schedule. It is easy to assemble with tools provided. Most of the fittings are based on using an L wrench. The nuts and bolts provided are all of top quality. The fit is also excellent so putting it together is not a problem. I suppose it took about 40 minutes but mostly because of carefully reading and checking the instruction. Once together. We put it in place on a Sunny mat which is a very good idea to also purchase. Moving it isn’t hard as there are small sheets at the front bottom. The unit sits very sturdily and without any rocking or vibration. The feet are adjustable to make sure it sits well. When in use, the unit is relatively quiet where one could easily watch TV. The computer is easy to use but it is reset on command and not able to continuously track more than one person. I would advise having a small book around for each to write down the record of each ride. The information given is time, speed, mileage covered and calories burnt. It can be set to display anyone of these or to continue rotate between these four metrics. There is no place for a screen or laptop or phone at the handle bar area. The saddle can be adjusted in height and fore and aft. The handle bar is fixed as is the tilt of the saddle. One thing would greatly improve this unit is the handle bar height and the seat tilt could be adjusted. It would also be nice if the seat could be swapped out for any regular bike saddle. Overall for this price point, this is an attractive, small profile, quiet and competent stationary exercise bike. It isn’t any where close to as enjoyable as riding outside in nature. But with our severe winters, this will have to do. ... show more

  • Great beginner bike! Great beginner bike!
Great price (less than $120 when purchased) for a beginner bike. I wanted to see if I would stick with it before I invested a lot of money in a bike. I'm 5'10" and 200lbs (okay, 210lbs). First, the good: 1) Very sturdy, regardless of pedaling intensity 2) Easy assembly 3) Great value, especially if you're not sure if you'll use an exercise bike 4) Chain is actually very quiet; no slippage issues like reported with other belt bikes; I thought this would be a problem but it has worked to my advantage 5) 20 lb flywheel is more than adequate and provides a smooth pedaling action Now, the bad: 1) Handle bars are a bit uncomfortable, but were easy to construct a custom wood laptop holder 2) Seat is uncomfortable; currently investigating a good seat cover 3) Seat is not interchangeable and not a standard bike seat mount; it's bolted to the mount; no tilt function and limited adjustment for height and front-to-back 4) The monitor is of limited use and hard to see (it's not back lit); it toggles among calories, time, and mileage, but I use it only for time 5) Front rollers are way too small in diameter compared to metal roller mounts; use extreme care not to scratch floor 6) Had to glue catch that engages monitor sensor; should have two screws to prevent slippage Summary: Great bike if you're on the "fence" about cycling; not enough adjustment for taller than 5'10" but could handle more than 210 lbs with no problem. I'm very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Upon reading the good reviews, I took a chance & purchased this ...
As an avid exerciser, who frequently mountainbikes and have used stationary bikes during the darkest parts of winter to cross-train for off-road motorcycling competition, I was in need of a quieter & more compact stationary bicycle since I have been using a free one (that broke) or my mountainbike on a stationary stand (which is very noisy, no thanks to knobby tires). I was planning to purchase an older, used stationary bicycle off of Craigslist but decided to give a look at what the cost of a new one was for comparison. Upon reading the good reviews, I took a chance & purchased this unit. This bicycle is a bargain for what you get! It is heavy, sturdily built and unbelievably quiet! I can't emphasize the quiet part enough, I hear my shoe laces bouncing off the cages more then anything else! The traditional metal cleat pedals & cages are great at keeping your locked in. With a 33" inseam I had no issue getting the bike adjusted to fit me properly. Assembly took about 15 minutes and was simple to do with provided tools & easy instructions. The seat wasn't bothersome for me as some people have complained. The provided time/calorie/odo meter is a nice touch. Pedaling is smooth & the tensioner works well. The adjustable feet to compensate for an uneven floor work well. The only real complaint I can even think of is the fact it doesn't free-wheel, so you must decrease speed after a sprint easily or use the manual tensioner stop otherwise you could jam your knee. Not a real big issue, just something you adapt to if you've been using machines/bicycles that do free wheel. So in short, If you've been looking for a good stationary bike for a great price, this is it! Buy it. It's a bargain at twice the price! ***3 month update*** Still as quiet as ever, even being used at 4-5X's a week/3+ hours per week. ... show more

  • I got this for my 73 year old brother
He has not used it much, but was pleased with the quietness of it. We live in Alaska. My brother likes to walk a lot, but it's not really easy for him to do in the winter. We had a bike on a wind trainer, it was so noisy. He had a hard time getting on and off it as well. This bike is easier for him to get on and off. Neither of us like using the toe traps and it's not really wise for a senior person to use since they can fall off because they can't get their foot out. I'm thinking of taking it apart, hauling it to my apartment to use it myself at least until winter. If I use it, then I might get another one. The cost was so inexpensive, I will easily be able to sell it and even make money on it. The seat was comfortable. He would rather have one that is more upright. I like to lean over and rest my forearms on the handles. The company makes one that is more upright. The one thing that really impressed my brother is that the screws were already in the holes. He was looking for a bag, but there was none. It can be a pain to sort and organize a bag of screws. He was pleasantly surprised to see he didn't have to do this. I got on it a couple of times and realized that I'm so out of shape. I'm 68. I just did a few spins and was already tired. It was not on the easiest setting. I paid the higher price for it. The price went down about $30 and then another $30. I was going to order another one, but didn't decide soon enough and missed the cheaper price. I did this with the one day cheap price of a phone too. You snooze, you lose! ... show more

  • Good Basic Exercise Bike But Frame May Fail Prematurely
This is my second Sunny Fitness SF-B1203 Indoor Cycling Trainer. The first one only lasted 18 months after which a crack developed in the frame which caused the seat post to wiggle sideways thus making the bike unsafe to ride because continued use would probably eventually have caused the seat post to break off altogether and hurl me off. So why did I buy a second unit if the first one failed so prematurely? Because aside from the unexpected failure of the frame (after the one-year warranty period had expired, of course), this is still the best exercise bike I have purchased, and I have purchased about ten of them over the past 30 years. I did a lot of spinning on this bike, and although I am only 5'5"tall and weigh about 135 pounds, this probably placed undue stress on the frame and eventually caused a stress fracture. So I intend to use the second bike only for sit-down pedaling and not for stand-up spinning. Otherwise, this bike, like the original one, was very easy to assemble and has a sturdy, quiet chain drive, which is preferable to belt drive, whith which I have encountered trouble on every belt-drive model I have purchased (see my review of the Sunny Fitness SF-B910 Upright Mag Cycle elsewhere on Amazon). I do not use the fitness monitor and have mounted a small, clip-on fan in its place to keep me cool while I'm pedaling vigoursly. This is the only chain-drive exercise bike that I am aware of that weighs less than 80 pounds. Why is this a big deal? Because try unboxing and assembling an exercise bike yourself that weighs upwards of 80, 100 or even 150 pounds or more. And try moving it around, even on its rollers or wheels. If it had not been for the quality issue with the frame, I would have given this bike5 stars. This is a very good basic exercise bike, but I do not recommend using it for spinning, as it will shorten the life of the frame, especially if you weigh more than 150 pounds. Pros: Easy to assemble; quiet, smooth and dependable chain drive; relatively light weight ; easy to adjust resistance control. Cons: Frame is not durable enough for spinning; small front rollers not very helpful for moving bike around; fixed handlebars may not fit some users; seat is somewhat hard and uncomfortable, although this can be remedied with a gel seat pad or some extra foam cushioning. ... show more

  • Great bike, and an actual mechanical engineer wrote and packaged the instructions
Well I've been putting off buying an exercise bike for years, and tried buying one off Craigslist. They were selling there for $40-100, for the most part dusty junk people were trying to unload. The fact that I was able to get this for $120 made it worth it to me. I'm not going to spend $300-400 on a bike, I don't care about all the bells and whistles, I just want a solid, get-on-and-use bike. This bike is just that. The installation instructions, including the numbered "Step 1", "Step 2" baggies of parts were perfect. There's nothing intimidating about putting this bike together. We've all suffered through using a tape measure to make sure we're putting in the right screw, the genius (no sarcasm) who wrote and put this build together should get a raise. Painless build! The little lever below above the wheel is for tension, turn and it's harder, turn the other way and it's easier. Very simple and works as you hope. The seat adjusts well, it fits my under 6' frame fine. Very solid build, this is NOT a lightweight bike. I will comment that UPS had just delivered the box (61 pounds) with an enormous gash on the side of it, so much of a hole that you can see the red wheel of the bike. I'm hoping it didn't affect the mechanics, after using it a couple times it seems okay. ... show more

  • I am 5' 11" and it is a bit small
I've had this bike for about 10 months now and have ridden over 100 miles. This is not my first choice to ride indoors like this, as I'd rather ride outside weather permitting so I ride this when I am not able to. However, this is a great substitute. Let me first start off for the price, this is an excellent deal. The bike is really well made and seems solid all the way around. It took me a bit longer than most to assembly, but assembly and things like this is not my cup of tea. As for the bike itself, it is great and really what I needed to stay in shape. My only complaint is that it is really not big enough for me. Other reviewers at my height or taller said this is fine for their height. I disagree with these comments because this really isn't big enough to allow you to fully extend and pedal like you should. By fully extend, I mean be able to almost fully extend your legs with a slight bend to them. I am not able to do so, and my legs are a lot more bent than I would like them to be. When my leg is at the top of a pedal stroke it is a slight bit short of a 90 degree angle. When it is at the bottom of a pedal stroke it is about symmetrical above and below the knee. I ride a decent amount (anywhere from 500 to 1700 miles any given year) for what it is worth. I have the seat adjusted to the last notch. I've read some others have drilled another hole in the seat extension bar. I am leery to do that, as I don't want to compromise the integrity of the seat. I wish there was a way to get another seat with another notch or two on it to get the extension that I need while riding. Honestly thought, this hasn't caused a problem and I have been comfortable riding on this indoor bike so far. I often ride no-hands, and work out with lightweight dumbbells while riding. The tension settings are great. They allow me to ease into my workout, and then at the end cool down with little resistance. As for the sound, it is really what I expected. Knowing that there are working parts and gears, I didn't think this thing would be whisper quiet. Overall, this is a great indoor bike. I just really wish it had another notch or two on the seat so I can properly extend while riding. ... show more
