Top Amazon Reviews

  • I cannot tell you how many reviews I read until settling on this treadmill
I have literally read so many reviews of treadmills, and searched high and low until I found one that seemed would be a good fit for me. The Sunny Health brand beat the Proform and other local store brands in reviews and in quality from what I found online. I also wanted a treadmill with a small footprint, so it could easily fit in my home, and something that I could both walk and run on. I also wanted an automatic incline, if affordable, to make things easier on me and prevent getting on and off the treadmill. This Sunny Health treadmill met all my requirements for an affordable price, and I'm truly happy I went with this one. When it comes in, let me say, please have two people ready. I am a 5'2, 100 pound female whose husband helped to get it over the threshold into the house and then I slid it across my floors to my six foot long nook. Total mistake. Reason? Because I didn't realize which end was which and I wanted this to face the patio door in my nook so I could look outside while on it. Another mistake? My nook is situated behind the couch with a wall opposite it, so I had a narrow space to work with and unboxing this thing took me a good hour and a half as my husband decided this was the best time to nap, and I refused to not woman up and have it put together when he woke up. I'm an idiot. LOL! This is so nicely packaged that there was no worry about the device having any damage, and I managed to lay it flat, and took a box cutter to cut the whole top off. I was doing a jig at this point because the treadmill looks fantastic and I knew I could get it out in ten minutes. Oh how wrong I was. The front of the device is HEAVY, and as someone who hasn't gone to the gym since I had my last child, my arm strength is lacking. I couldn't move it up an inch. What's more is that there are wood pieces holding this thing in place that are glued to the bottom of the packaging. I had to somehow pick it up to go over those humps. I struggled for an hour and a half until I got my two kids to step in the are of the box I managed to wiggle it out from for weight, and I then I picked up the non heavy end and "walked" the front over the humps. After finally getting it out, I did have to have one child hold the arms and top area of the treadmill up while I screwed the screws in. Once done, it was super easy to finish the set up, and I oiled under the treadmill mat, and was ready to turn it on. (side note, husband woke up, and helped me turn it around. With no wheels, it was a feat for me, not so much for his 6'2 self). After I let it run for a minute to oil the mat up, I was ready to roll! There is an on switch on the bottom front of the device, and from there the controls light up. The handles do have the up/down for incline on the left and the up/down for speed on the right. They also have a pulse reader on the handles, but I don't find it works well at all, and sometimes I get a little static shock on the left handle as an FYI. The face of the device has your start and stop, your time, quick buttons for speed in two increments (2 mph, 4, 6, 8 mph), has incline quick buttons, and music buttons on top that I don't use at all. There is also a magnetized latch that magnetizes in the middle of the treadmill at the bottom, and the clamp goes on you just in case you fall. The magnet is wrenched off, and it does stop immediately! In use, this treadmill does have a soft landing feature, which means when it's up you have to use your foot to push the pole in the middle, and the treadmill mat will start extremely slowly lowering. I have no fear of it being pushed and one of my kids trapped beneath it as it's like watching paint dry for it to fully lower. I did purchase four thick pads off of Amazon, and I have two under the front edges, and when it lowers, I bend down and wait for it the end edges to almost touch the floor before sliding them beneath so my floor is protected. I do find I have to really push this lever to get it to go down, but that could just be me as my husband was watching me flounder, and stepped on it, and it immediately started going down. Again, I'm only 5'2, so my stride is short and I walk normally anywhere from 3 to 3.7 mph. Jogging on this is at a 4-4.5 mph, and 5 mph is my max limit currently for my short legs. I was afraid this would be too slow for me to run on, but no way! I could do a full sprint and still not be on 8 mph which is the max. It runs smooth, but when I run, because I am in a nook area, my steps do echo to me. I have had treadmills before and I don't feel this is any louder than those. This is also in my living room, so when I am on it, my husband tends to put on his headset to listen to the tv and drown out my footfalls. The max weight on this is 240, and my husband tops out at 240-245 so he hasn't tried to go on it yet. I will update if he does to see how well it worked with him on it. In all, I love this treadmill and it's smallness, the buttons are amazing and work great, it's a smooth surface to run or walk on, and super easy to put together. I love the soft close and how easy it is to pick the treadmill surface up. The incline is smooth also, and gives a great workout. The only issues I could nitpick at is trying to get it out of the box on my own, and I wish the screen was a lot taller. It does have a phone holder, but then I have to look down to view it, and some other treadmills I saw had a raised top area so you're looking at height level as there was a phone holder on the very top of it. I thought about putting a small magnet on my door so my phone could magnetize to it and it would be height level for me. So if you're taller than 5'2, you'd definitely be looking straight down to watch anything and after a time that does strain your neck. Again, that's my only would be issues that very nitpicking. Otherwise I love this treadmill, and do recommend it! ... show more

  • Excellent Treadmill—Quiet, Solid, Simple, and No Monthly Subscription!
Color: Gray
I have only had this treadmill for about a week, but so far, this is a great unit. If possible, I will update the review. Plug in the Sunny, push the green button, and after a countdown of 3, 2, 1, it starts. It is very quiet and smooth. It does still work with the arms in the up position, although maybe that is not considered a safe practice. Just don't push the arms too far up because it will unlock the bottom latches and allow the arms to fold down. However, if your hand hits the extended arms, this feature might work well for you. I bought this treadmill to replace a NordicTrack treadmill that took a long time to update the monitor. After waiting 5–10 minutes, I no longer wanted to use it. It was also difficult to find the manual start button, which is printed in microscopic font in the top-right corner. The NordicTrack needed a new motor after only a year and a half. The foot rails cracked on every treadmill I have owned before, so I am really impressed with how strong the foot rails are on this treadmill. This treadmill is heavy, but you can slide it on its side if necessary if you wanted to change the location. This Sunny treadmill seems very solid. I believe this will be the last treadmill I buy because I plan to make repairs myself when needed. I have been repairing my own treadmills since the last century! This simple design is perfect for me, as you can put a TV right in front. The design is absolutely the best. You don't need all the bells and whistles. Just start at a slow speed with the incline at zero. Increase the speed to about 3.0–3.6 mph and use it for a while before starting to increase the incline. If you feel the need to grab the extended arms, lower the incline a couple of notches. Pretty soon, you will be amazed at the numbers displayed on the unit. Just a not for those of us who are out of shape. This is a great buy. The only downside is that it does not fold up. However, you can put the arms down and simply step on and over the treadmill as you move through the house. Think of it as a stepper. Just don't step on the front and rear rollers, so as to help extend their life. Be sure to use the bottle of lubricant on the underside of the belt before the first use, as instructed in the manual. I also like that this company is not trying to lock you into a monthly subscription. Sunny makes it easy to contact them, too. This unit does not require a monthly subscription. So far, I am very impressed with this treadmill. ... show more

  • Good treadmill, nice wide belt and easy to set up.
Color: Gray
So far, so good. I've only had this treadmill for a week and used it a few times. It works well, and the 20" wide belt is great. Why only four stars? It comes mostly assembles, just stand the handle section up and snap it into place. I had to adjust the belt a bit, it was quite easy and only took a minute or two. Two adjustments as per directions and it was lined up perfectly. Not sure who Amazon shipped it thru, but the box arrived looking beat to heck and back. Big hole in the bottom, top half torn off, several smaller holes. I was concerned but the treadmill was packed in there well and survived without a scratch. The box, by the way, is a two piece box, the top comes completely off. Getting it out alone was pretty easy for me. The treadmill is easy to move, pick the light end up and roll it where you want it. I wish the tread part raised up, but that model was about $200 more for some reason. At any rate, it works as it should. When you press start it counts down three and starts moving. And it starts at 1mph I think. The auto incline works great and the display is easily viewed from the walking position. I haven't tried the Sunny walking workouts that come with it yet. I like the size, it's very easy to set up and the cushioning seems just right to me. It seems good for seniors because it starts slow and you can go up in speed by increments or use the fast buttons which start at 3mph and go up. Great treadmill so far, just make sure you have the floor space for it. Sliding it under a bed is possible, but could be hard to do with it being over 100 lbs. All in all, I'm pleased with it, function and quality seem to be quite good. I will update in the future if problems arise. ... show more

  • Nice quality, fully assembled.
Color: Gray
Fully assembled. Belt appeared to have shifted over to one side, but was easily adjusted per manual. Much heavier and more sturdily built than my last treadmill. Easy to use, controls are clear. Has wheels to move, but was too wide to fit through my bedroom door, had to tip it upright and "walk"it thru. Some noise when running but not excessive. Nice USB power port for my tablet or phone. Have only had it for 2 days so far, but pleased with the quality and ease of use. ... show more

  • I would not buy a treadmill with less width or length than this one has
4/21/2022 - Update after using this treadmill for about a year I use the treadmill 4 to 5 times a week for 2.5 miles at 3.5 MPH over varying inclines from 0 to 3. The treadmill has been flawless so far. Highly recommended. End of Update I also would NOT get a treadmill without auto incline. Doing it manually means getting off the treadmill and manually adjusting a plastic piece at the rear of the treadmill. Belt width on this treadmill is 16.5", length is 49.5". I'm 5' 10" and if not careful (and my feet move towards the rear of the treadmill a little). I can feel where the belt is joined. Staying a little forward avoids that. Very easy to assemble comprising 6 bolts with lock washers and 4 screws. Their screw driver isn't much good, I would use your own. They provide two allen wrenches of slightly different sizes but only one size is needed. The treadmill appears very sturdy, easy to fold up, easy to let down again. Bluetoothj speakers work OK to my Android phone. Not great speakers but wouldn't expect them to be great (after all, it is a treadmill). The speakers are certainly listenable to. The treadmill motor is very quiet also. I did purchase the mat by Sunny that the treadmill sits on. Per the instructions, I did lube under the belt before use. Probably worth ordering more when you order the treadmill. Using more than 5 hours per week...they recommend lubing monthly. All in all, a very good treadmill (not that I am any expert <g>). Update 2/21/2021 I’ve used this for the last several weeks now. I really like the treadmill. Seems to be well made, was well packed. The only very minor gripe I have is that between my phone volume control and the volume control on the treadmill it is a little difficult to get the volume just right. Either a little too soft or a little too loud. Not a big deal. The treadmill really needs a more granular volume control. Update 2/27/2021 I don't take any stock in the pulse readings. I see wildly fluctuating numbers given during various times during my walking sessions. I walk 2.5 miles at 3.5mph 6 times per week. I see pulse fluctuations from the 80/90 mark after, say 1 mile, and release my fingers or thumbs from the handles. 20 or 30 seconds later, when testing again, I see figures in the 120/130 range and once as high as 170. 20 or seconds later it is back to 80/90. Doesn't make sense to me. Update 4/1/2021 I sent an email to the manufacturer about 4 weeks ago. I had an observation about the display showing "Fat" and the manual showing "BMI" as well as asking a question about programming custom treadmill programs. As of today, I have had NO REPLY. Makes me wonder what would happen if I had a warranty claim (I don't ATM). Still not a good indication of support from the company. Lowering the rating to 3* due to this. 6 month (or so) update. Having used this treadmill for around 6 months, I have raised the rating to 4*. The only real issue that I can mildly criticize is that the volume steps seem to be too far apart to get the volume to a level that I am OK with. It's either a bit too loud or too soft. I have played with the volume on both the treadmill and my phone but can never seem to quite get it right. All in all, not much of a criticism hence raising the review to 4* ... show more

  • Love this treadmill!
Color: Gray
I love this treadmill! I did a lot of research and compared a lot of different options before landing on this one. Personally, I feel like it is the best bang for the buck. The fact that it came pre-assembled was a huge bonus for me. I am a single woman living alone and it was extremely easy for me to set up. I did opt for the scheduled delivery to a room of my choice because it is pretty heavy. Once it was delivered I was able to get it unboxed and set up within just a few minutes. I have been using it for a couple of months now and it works great. The the automatic incline is awesome. The speed is more than enough for me. I can absolutely run full speed on it, although I mostly use it for incline walking. It is a good size. I am 5'7 and I have plenty of room to walk or run. I would absolutely buy the same treadmill again. I do have hardwood floors and so I did have to order a mat to keep it in place. ... show more

  • Sunny Health and Fitness Gives a Shoulder Shrug to Customer Issues
Color: Gray
I was very disappointed with my experience with the company that makes this treadmill - even though, overall, I really liked the product. I did notice a couple of things right away, though. First, as noted in several other reviews, I got a shock every time I touched the metal strips on the handrails. We tried covering them up with velcro strips, but that did not help. Second, the “up arrow” to raise the incline didn’t work when starting at no incline. I had to press the “3” for incline level 3 and then back down to 1. The treadmill also starts at 0.6 miles; you cannot start at 0. Okay - I was willing to deal with what I considered to be minor inconveniences. After about a week of use, however, the Pause/Stop buttons (one button actually, with two sides to it) stopped working. You have two choices, then, of how to get off. One, pull the clip out - this jolts the treadmill to an immediate stop, which can totally knock you off balance. The second is to lower the speed to 0.6 - again, you cannot go to 0 - and get off while the treadmill is running. This, of course, is a deal breaker. So then we began with the real problem - Sunny Health and Fitness customer service. My husband contacted the company because if they were going to make troubleshooting suggestions - which they did - that is not an area I am comfortable with. So after asking for several items of proof of ownership and of the problems - asking for videos illustrating the problems, for example - they then sent us a video of how to do the troubleshooting. The video was of the wrong model. They then sent another video, which was corrupted. At this point, they suggested to my husband that he open the console and reseat the cables. (I’d like to mention that I personally don’t even know what that means and don’t understand why I am having to troubleshoot a brand-new $700 treadmill. But okay). This did nothing. At this point, they told us that they would send us parts - we don’t even know what parts - and that this would be sent out in 2-3 business days and then add to that whatever amount of time it takes to send out via postal ground. We informed them that I only had a week to return this item through Amazon, which is how I purchased it. My husband asked that they send the parts overnight. In this way, we could see if the replacement parts fixed the problem and still have time to return the product via Amazon if not. They replied that they do not send things overnight. So here’s the deal - I really liked the treadmill, in spite of the more minor issues I encountered before this more important problem of not being able to use the Pause/Stop buttons. I did not want to risk not receiving whatever these parts were - how could they even know what was needed at this point - or of receiving them, and they didn’t fix the problem. By the time all of that would have happened, I would have missed the return date on Amazon and no doubt been stuck dealing further with the company directly in order to get this problem resolved. I would have been glad to give them another chance if they had either overnighted whatever these parts were, giving us a chance to see if that fixed the problem, or if they had offered to replace the treadmill. Instead, they did neither and did not seem to care at all if we just returned it. So that’s what we did. I am now looking for another company to buy a treadmill from - one that will care about its customers enough not to act like it’s their problem to fix if the treadmill doesn’t work. I got a big shoulder shrug from Sunny Health and Fitness. I am just grateful that I purchased this from Amazon, who made the return process extremely easy and did not try to jerk me around in the process. ... show more

Color: Gray
I’ve been using this treadmill for a while and it has been a great addition to my home gym. One of the things I liked most was how easy it was to set up. It was mostly assembled and only took a few minutes to get ready. The running surface feels comfortable and stable, and the machine runs smoothly without being overly noisy. I mainly use it for incline walking and light jogging several times a week, and it has been working well so far. The controls are simple to use, and the overall build quality feels solid.
