  • If this comes available again it is worth the purchase.
Ok so I'm not sure how to gauge range of motion and maneuverability but I'll give it a shot: Range of Motion: is enough for me but I'm very new (as of this writing) to rowing machines of any kind. The instructions state to keep around 2 feet free around the machine and that's probably true especially if you're keeping to correct form. Maneuverability: The machine is around 6' long and 18" wide so keep that in mind. It stands up on the front end for space conservation/storage and doesn't need to be secured while standing though make sure nobody can get to it who might be strong enough to cause it to fall. I have mine in a back bedroom where my 5 year niece and 3 year old nephew can't get to it for example. Packaging and assembly instructions: whatever the manufacturer is getting paid needs to be doubled. The packaging was well-done. All the bolts, washers and tools, yes, tools are in a package much like some IKEA items.. all labeled as to what they are, no extra pieces and the instructions refer to each bolt, washer, etc by number (legend in the instructions). Whole thing took me about 45 minutes to assemble but I was not 100% focused only on it. I think for most it won't take but about 30 minutes to get full assembled. Just be aware this thing is not light and you may want some help moving pieces around. Something to note: because I completely missed this until I'd actually put the pedals on the machine, the pedals have stickers on the heel end noting L and R. I took a guess...noticed the stickers after the fact doh! LCD screen is basic. Nothing to write home about but it doesn't need to do much. My Apple Watch workout app picks up the rowing motions so I don't need to rely on the LCD screen for anything. Tension can be adjusted by a knob on the front. I'm not willing to test that out yet. I've got quite a ways to go before I'm ready for that. The seat is comfy.. and decently sized. Its sliding motion is pretty smooth. Pedals are hard plastic. I'm pretty sure they'll last for awhile but like anything it probably depends on usage. Anyways, for a low-priced rowing machine it is not cheaply made. It is exactly what I wanted and it may be for you too. ... show more

  • No resistance
Style: Hydro+
There was little to no resistance with this machine. Very disappointing.

  • Bummer experience...UPDATED
Update: May 2019: Although not the swiftest responders, Sunny did make it right by sending out another unit which worked flawlessly. They even left the first one behind for spare parts in the event of a future breakage. It has been up and running for several weeks now and we can say that we are satisfied customers. I can't move the review to 5 stars because the transaction wasn't perfect but eventually, all was made right. I would buy it again. My wife suffers from a lot of joint pain so we decided to buy a rower for the low impact exercise it provides. Researched and decided upon the Sunny SF-RW5730, a combination Magnetic/Air Resistance rower. As it has been pointed out in other reviews, once it's out of the packaging, it's not going back in. I assembled it in less than an hour following the fairly easy directions. Pulled back on the handle in anticipation of the silent magnetic tension only to hear horrific grinding/scraping noise. Adjusted the tension to various settings...no relief. Screech, screech, screech with every rotation of the flywheel. So I removed the cover and saw that the magnet was hard against the flywheel. Furthermore, the wheel ran true and I see no adjustments that would allow the magnet to center over the wheel (see pic). Called the help line but no response (presumably because it was Sunday). Sent an email which generated an auto-response but still no answers or fixes. Certainly hoping it's an easy fix because mailing it back will be virtually impossible. Will update when there is some resolution ... show more

  • Good balance of features. Foot rests don't work for all sizes.
Style: Hydro+
This is a good machine for the price and features. Pros: You get a fairly good range of resistance levels, nice water sound and feel, and nice long inseam on the slide bar. Very easy to tilt up for storage; moderately easy to move around with the wheels. Only one con: The foot rests are huge pieces of molded plastic, and only have one slot for straps and only one way to attach them to the machine. So unless you have unusually large feet for a woman (I'm a US women's size 7, which is fairly average), you can't get a good, secure placement for your feet, and this can affect form. If it were more accommodating of a range of body sizes, rather than expecting us all to be large males, I'd give it five stars. ... show more

  • Good value for entry level rowing machine
This is my first rowing machine and I have never used one before so I can only relate my limited opinion. Packed well relatively easy to assemble. I have only used it a few times. It is smooth and quiet seems sturdy. I purchased this primarily for cardio and it seems it will work well for that. Tension level 7 seems right for me. I would say if you are looking to work on your rowing power this would not be a good machine for you as at highest tension level 8 it is still not hard to work it. I am not sure how other machines work if they can be difficult to pull or not. Again I am just interested in improving my cardio and I am starting at 15 minutes at level 7 and expect to work up to longer sessions. I am a 58 year old man who is 5'7" 170 pounds decently fit but have not done any strenuous cardio due to lack of will power and it is boring. With this I can do in comfort of my home watch tv or listen to music should work. ... show more

  • Water Wheel not really useful
Style: Hydro+
This works fine. The water wheel system doesn't give add as much resistance as I would like. It's more useful as a pleasant way to pretend I'm actually rowing on water.

  • Sturdy/functional rower
Style: Hydro+
Nice rower. I’m pairing this with an iPad running the Hydrow app. Pros: Sturdy build quality. Soothing sounds from the water tank. Full range of motion during the row. Easy assembly. Functional monitor. Cons: Slides across the floor without a mat underneath. That’s despite adjusting the foot levels. Monitor gives a pulse reading despite no heart monitor being connected so it’s giving inaccurate data. ... show more
