I've been using this for several weeks now and I really like it - it is the perfect amount of workout for work. When I first started using it, I would run it in automatic mode because I found it difficult to keep a steady rotation when peddling it manually, but now I have the rhythm down and can do it easily. With resistance on 2 (machine off), I feel some burn in my calf and quad muscles peddling backwards. Peddling forward seems to work hamstring muscles more than quads. I feel like I could break a sweat if I pushed it, but you can still feel like you've done some exercise without having to sweat. It fits perfectly under my desk far enough under it so I can pull my chair up to my normal position and I can use it without my knees hitting the bottom of my desk. It makes some noise, but I haven't found it distracting in the slightest; I wear headphones and listen to music or podcasts most of the time. If you work in a cubical in a quiet office with lots of people around you, it might not be appropriate, but if you have your own office or there is other ambient noise, no one will hear it and surely no one will think the noise is disturbing or out of place. All of the buttons I can reach with my toes so I don't have to crawl under my desk, but I have been using it more and more with the power off anyways, so no button pressing needed. ... show more

This is exactly what I was looking for. I was between three different under desk ellipticals and took a risk with Sunny Health. The Cubii was just wayyyyy toooo expensive to put under my desk. I honestly don't need the tracker and phone app. I just need to move my legs circulate the blood to keep some focus at work. The other decent option was just too long and I'd have to completely rearrange my desk setup. There were no reviews when I made the purchase. I did the next best thing and looked up reviews for Sunny Home and Fitness equipment. Most were 4 stars, so I took the risk. The exact day after I ordered, there were two reviews posted. Admittedly, I thought that I was scammed. They were both very unfavorable. I was afraid that it was going to be loud. When I turned it on for the first time, I could barely hear it. It's like a high end dishwasher, whisper quiet. As far as the motorized motion, all are very smooth. One option switches forward and backwards. There are three speeds and I noticed that the medium speed works best for typing on the keyboard and completing work tasks. The manual mode is smooth as well. Really, for my objective (which is to keep blood circulating and keep focus) the motorization is the perfect solution. I don't work up a sweat at work and keep the legs moving. Overall great machine. It is a bit pricey, depending on ones budget. But if you are in the market and this is in your price range...even if it’s on the higher end of your price range. This is an excellent choice. Doesn’t take the place of a full size elliptical because that would be impossible. But I believe there are countless reason why this will work for someone. Me personally, I had ankle reconstruction surgery. I got this for my physical therapy phase (after shopping/researching for 2 months after surgery until I was in physical therapy).     • Worked great... for awhile.
Worked great for a year and a half. I bought it for my 98 lb mother who became paralyzed on her left side following a stroke. The wheel mechanism attached to the hub on the left cracked (plastic) making it impossible for her to pedal. I will update this rating once I find out how the company I purchased it from (Sunny) handles repairs/replacements. ... show more

    • I would give this 5 stars if the motion was smooth
It feels like the mechanism moves in two half circles rather than a single full circle. Halfway through a rotation it will briefly "pause" (or increase resistance maybe?) then release suddenly for the remainder. Perhaps it's a consequence of the motorized movement (which I don't use). I've found that peddling slowly with less pressure helps smooth it out. It also works better if I peddle backward and stay at the bottom of the pedal. I'm not interested in the motorized aspect, but Im limited by my small setup. This is the only one I found that both fits in the area and doesn't raise my knees too high for my keyboard tray. Ordered the elliptical for my 92 year old mother and my husband (he has knee problems). After only 2 days of usage, they have both seen improvement with their respective issues. Not to be dramatic, but this elliptical has been a God send. I couldn't be happier about the initial results and therefore can't wait for sustained usage.
