  • Great, great small-sized Space Heater!
Color: Black
REVIEW OF SUNNOTE SPACE HEATER I ordered a couple of the Sunnote 1500W space heaters on 9-29-2022. They arrived within a couple of days via Prime delivery. I eagerly unpacked one of the items to confirm it was, indeed, what I expected and operated as anticipated. Based on outward appearance and a trial run, the heater was even better than expected. The control system worked perfectly, the heat came on virtually instantly, the oscillation worked as described, and the fan noise was virtually non-existent. The heater was put aside until we experienced a very cool evening at dinner time and decided to try out the heater under conditions requiring localized heat. We plugged in the heater, set it to a desired temperature, turned on oscillation, and reduced heat output to half, all by remote control. It worked perfectly on all counts. Could not ask for better. So, how did I make the selection of the Sunnote Space Heater when there were so many competitors with somewhat similar offerings? My requirements: - Extremely quiet operation - Remote control - Clear digital readouts - Oscillation - Carry handle for portability - Automatic shutdown in event of tip-over - Digital timer for automatic shutdown after period of use - Smallish size with clean aesthetic look - Nearly straight-line temperature control for uniform heating - Instantaneous heat output - Overheat protection The Sunnote was the only space heater I reviewed on Amazon that had all the desired features based on my above listing. Oddly, the Carry Handle for portability was not mentioned in the Amazon listing, but it most certainly is part of the design and shown in one of my pictures. I noticed a price difference in Sunnote models because of the color selection and decided the lower-priced standard black version would work for us. Actually, it not only worked for us, it’s a perfect color for our usage.  We planned to move the heaters around, if deemed desirable for a specific usage. An example would be in my office where periodically my legs can feel the chill on colder days but we don’t want to heat the entire house (which is otherwise comfortable) just to keep my legs equally comfortable for a short amount of time in this small part of our home. Another example: Add some heat to the bathroom when exiting the shower during the day when the house central system is not active and unnecessary, especially now with the extraordinary cost of utilities these days. About ten days after opening the first heater, I finally got around to opening and testing the second one. Unfortunately, that heater failed right out-of-the-box for unknown reason. I requested a replacement and it was in my hands the very next day. I put that space heater through the paces and there was absolutely no problem. Great service by both Sunnote and Prime. I could not be happier knowing that Sunnote stands behind their products without reservation. The accompanying pictures show color, design and some features. Bottom line: The Sunnote Space Heater is a winner on all accounts and that includes the first-class User Guide which is both complete and well-written (for a change). ... show more

  • It's a little smaller than i was expecting.
Color: Black
Even though it was a little small, it works great. Excellent heat output and the remote makes it very handy.

  • Great product
Color: Black
I have solar panels and have left over credit from summer. I did this intentionally. So I use two of these to heat my great room instead of gas. Except morning and before bed time. They do a fine job and I save on gas bill while using credit. I'm very proud of myself.

  • Fantastic heater - except for one thing
Color: Black
Love this heater. It's sleek, quiet, works well, blows the heat a good distance, has a great little remote -- overall just a great little heater! But there's one thing that is a major flaw, in my opinion: the display automatically turns off after 30 seconds, and there's no way to change that. 30 seconds after you turn it on or make a change, the display automatically turns off. At that point, unless the heater happens to be blowing air at the moment, there's no way to know whether it's on or off, unless you touch a button (either directly or through the remote) to reactivate the display. Thus, if the heater's not currently blowing air, it appears off. I've often left it on all night after leaving the room I was using it in, wasting electricity and possibly creating a safety hazard. As a result, I've gotten into the habit of setting the timer to automatically shut off after a few hours whenever I turn it on. But I shouldn't have to do that. I should have the option of leaving the display on if I want. Or maybe just have a tiny green light that's lit whenever the heater is active. (There's a little red light which indicates it has power, but not whether or not it's currently only.) So this is a major design flaw, in my opinion. Other than that, great heater. ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised with the Sunnote Space Heater
Color: Black
Having researched and trying out several electric space heaters, mostly the PTC/Ceramic type, I made a list of what was most important to me and tried to find a heater that fulfilled those requirements. 1: The heater must be fairly quiet, which this heater certainly is. The advertised decibel rating is accurate. 2: It must keep a tight temperature swing, which this unit excels at. 3: The fan must completely stop/turn off when the set temp is reached, which this does. Some units continue to run between off/on cycles which may turn into cooler air being blown out. 4: The set temp must remain in memory once turned off and then back on, which this does. It does lose its memory when unplugged, which is to be expected, in my opinion. The Dreo line of heaters does retain its memory when unplugged also, if that is important to you. 5: Must be able to read the display from a distance other than very close, which is more than acceptable, 6: Must be fairly odor free. This unit initially had a minor odor, but has dissipated with use. 7: The wattage draw must be controlled. This unit will draw close to 1700 watts when first turned on in high or in ECO when the set temp is 2-3 degrees above the ambient temp. This wattage draw will reduce to just under 1500 watts in a matter of seconds and then lower as the set temp is reached. In low, it will draw 900 - 950 watts which is ideal for me. 8: Should have a wide transmit/receive field for the remote control's operation, which this is very good at. 9: The unit must heat well which the Sunnote also excels at. ** Please remember that when using an electric space heater, especially one with a PTC element, the outlet it is plugged into must be good and tight, otherwise there will be a resistance problem possibly leading to overheating and melting the heater's plug and/or outlet itself or in an extreme case, fire. 120 volt electric space heaters are most effective when used in a completely closed or mostly closed off space. When there is even one open doorway, it's effectiveness is drastically reduced or even nullified. I use the Sunnote in my 14' x 21' closed off family room and it works fine, even as a primary heat source with outside temps down to 20 degrees or so. When windy and colder, not so much but these units are not to be used as a primary source, but a secondary one. I turn my forced air heating system to 62 degrees, close off my family room, and I am good to go. Used within reasonable expectations, this unit should serve a lot of people's purposes and I highly recommend it, especially after using some that did not even come close to what I was looking for. I haven't used the timer features yet, but this unit can be set to turn off after up to 24 hours, and also can be set to turn on after a time period of up to the same. This can be a real plus for a lot of people. Another item that may be important to some, when turning off or when the set temp is reached, there is a 15 second countdown. Most of these heaters have a 30 second countdown for heating element cool down, which can turn to a cold air blast for the last 10 - 15 seconds depending on the application. The lesser 15 seconds is much appreciated. As an aside, I checked my forced air gas furnace data tag and its motor draws 8.9 amps when running. This equates to +/- 1030 watts on a 120 volt circuit. Once my area is warmed up, I will be using the Sunnote heater on low, which is 900 - 950 watts. As natural gas prices have been skyrocketing here in Michigan, I believe I can save a few $$$ with this heater. Good luck in your search! ... show more
