3.0 out of 5 stars | It was good until this happened
Updated October 2017: I bought this heater in January 2017, so it’s been 9 months out of which I only used it for about 4 months. The rest of the summer it was put away, last night when it got cold in NJ I decided to put it back to work, however to my surprise! The outlet started to smoke the second I plugged it in! The plug was not wet, or anything wrong with the outlet! I’m so sad that this happened as I really liked this heater. But I’m afraid to buy another one and for this to happen again. I am so glad I got this heater. It is so easy to use, the buttons are easily accessible and even the remote control that comes with it is useful. It has various temperature settings in degrees: 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, and MAX. It gives the option to set the heater to turn off at a certain time, or my favorite just keep it at a temperature and it automatically goes on idle. It warms up the room rather fast especially now that weather in NJ have drastically declined! Shipping was fast, and the packaging kept the heater well protected.

1.0 out of 5 stars | Dangerous, started to melt
Junk. First the oscillation broke within 2 months. Then the fan stopped blowing and the ceramic started to melt the unit from the inside out. Thank goodness I was home with my new born at the time and it was during the day. I caught it right when it started to smoke. I smelt burning plastic and sure enough it was the fan. Put in on the patio then trashed it after it cooled off. I cut the cord so no one could try to use it. Even though it was obviously melted.

1.0 out of 5 stars | Amazon contract with electronic manufacturers
As a constant buyer of products Amazon sells for the actual manufacturers, I concluded that the actual manufacturers products they sell through Amazon have some kind of defects. Most consumers that purchase larger items, such as electric heaters, microwave ovens, and such, don’t want to go through the hassle of returns. The manufacturers of those items know that. So these manufacturers count on only a 50% - of actual returns. Example 1: I ordered Lasko 751320 Ceramic Tower Space Heater with Remote Control - Features Built-in Timer and Oscillation Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc Return window closed on Nov 18, 2019 $49.99 That item did not function properly at all. I returned it. Then I ordered a Lasko Ceramic Tower Space Heater with Logic Center Digital Remote Control-Features Built-in Timer and Oscillation, 7.3″L x 9.2″W x 29.75″H, Black 5572 The remote does not work all. The heater does not turn on or off at the specified temperature like other heaters. If I decide I want a constant 70 degree heat, then the heater should not turn off at 73!! Or at 68!! My latest model I ordered, a Oster TSSTTVFDDG-DS Black Stainless Steel Collection French Door Oven, Extra Large by Oster Just turns off by itself automatically in any programming features. I program it to bake or pre-heat, and it just completely turns itself off, instead of automatically coming back on after a certain temperature fell below whatever temperature I programed it for like a conventional oven. There is something really wrong here to me as a Amazon consumer. I am not even blaming Amazon to this point, but maybe defective products are sold through Amazon – and Amazon may not even be aware of this fact! But all these different manufacturers getting away with this? I don’t know. Either Amazon has knowledge about this, or all the different manufactures are fooling Amazon? I let the consumer be the judge of that!!

1.0 out of 5 stars | BE CAREFUL
I ordered this heater 10 days ago. It was only shipped in the manufacture's box so the base came cracked and a piece had broken off in shipping. I only use it for an hour or two at a time and keep it unplugged when not in use but the plug gets beyond hot and is melting my outlet. No more heater for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars | Great heater, 4 years later.
I've had this heater for 4 years. It's only been used in small bedrooms so if you have a large room this review may not pertain to you. Quality- The heater is 4 years old and it still works. I'd say it's a good heater. I bought an older house where the heat is everywhere in the house except the bedrooms. The heater is used at night when we sleep every night during the cold season. It hasn't broken or malfunctioned to date. Works like new. Performance- The heater's not made for large spaces. It heats a insulated bedroom nicely so it turns off and gives itself breathers when the temperate reaches the set limit. I'm going to say the bedrooms we have are around 300-350 sq. ft. and lightly insulated. For anything larger, I'd look for a different heater. There's lots of options so don't settle on one you "like" that just might work. Instead, do your research and find a heater that is the correct heater for your situation. **Fact-People burn houses down in unimaginable numbers yearly because they buy these cool little heaters that aren't big enough for the area they are going to heat and so they run, and run, and run... if you have older electric wiring it's more likely to cause this than newer but it'll heat up until the house sets fire. So I stress for safety sake, get the appropriate source of heat and also get the appropriate size. I didn't get a discount or anything with this review. It makes me laugh because when I read reviews I immediately assume someone is being sneaky and lying but in all seriousness. Good product if it's what you need.
