I purchased several of these for my patio to help keep the area warm enough to save the plants (I live in Phoenix, AZ). Easy enough to assemble, but…extremely poor heat. I tested them on a 55 degree evening. You only feel the warmth if you are standing or sitting within a foot of the lamp. After several hours, everything within 3’ of the heating element was cold to the touch. I had to stand as close to the lamp as I could to feel the warmth. This may be good for an outdoor reading chair area, where you are sitting directly under it, but there is NO way this thing can provide heat for 10’ or 12’ as advertised. Perhaps in an enclosed area, but definitely not an open area. Returned half the lamps. ... show more

It doesn't assemble well, screws were missing and the center pole was stripped so it is unstable and leans. It will warm you . . . IF you stand directly next to it with your hands within a few inches of the element. Otherwise, light a match (or flick your BIC), it will keep you warmer, in fact I could have just set 200 bills on fire and been just as warm as the warmth emitted by this "heater" ... show more

Very disappointed that this lasted a little over a year. (And only used it possibly 4 months total out of the year.) Heating element went out. Tried to contact manufacturer to get replacement for heating element and no response. Things happen, but no customer service is unacceptable. These look nice, but you can't even feel any heat when sitting under it at dining table height when heater is full height.

Puts off good heat however it’s nowhere near as effective as gas heaters in more open spaces. Overall would recommend for a enclosed patio space
