Was purchased as a replacement of the chipped (white) beater. Found many products that were both "coated" aluminum and plastic - did not want either. Was a bit skeptical on this beater as it looked "stamped" and may be rough around the edges. It does not have the rounded/coated edges like the original but definitely not a problem. It does not have sharp edges, just very clean. In fact this is a high recommend - love this and as you can see from the pictures, it has more coverage. Fits perfect in mixer and there is NO bumping of banging on the bowl. Very solid and easy to clean or place in dishwasher. LOVE IT!

In 1982, I purchased the KitchenAid K5SS. About 5-6 years ago, I had to replace the original flat beater due to the fact the coating was peeling off, and last year the coating began peeling off the replacement. That replacement was also lighter in weight than the original. This new beater fits and works well with the original metal bowl and plastic pour/splatter sheild. I expect it to last a long time.

The beater is too narrow and too tall for a model KV25 mixer. The paddle would not spin close to the sides of the bowl. It is a half inch overall too narrow at least. The overall length is too tall, as it hit the bottom of the bowl even with the adjustment screw backed all the way down to its lowest setting. Best advice- Measure your existing one before you buy one of these paddle beaters. And don't buy one unless the measurements are listed.

It is quite difficult to find parts for antique stand mixers. This replacement paddle blade is adequate if not perfect. On the positive is the proper length. On the slight negative it is somewhat more narrow thereby increasing the clearance between blade and bowl resulting in greater need for scraping. An issue but by no means major.

This beater replaces the flat beater for the Costco Kitchenaid 6500 HD lift mixer which was discontinued by the manufacturer. The stainless steel is awesome. The white flat beater was chipping off.
