There was a bit of setup to put this together, but the instructions made sense and it was just a matter of taking it step by step. The parts and pieces all seem like good, sturdy quality (like everything Sportneer makes). Once it was together and I tried it out for the first time, I couldn’t stop! It was so fun!!! Rowing is a really different exercise than all the other exercise equipment I have. I watched some videos and learned some tricks like holding my stomach muscles tight, dropping my shoulders, and pulling back my arms with a “snap” at the end to get the real rowing motion going. The little square seat is padded, but after a few minutes it feels pretty hard. It’s also fairly low to the ground and not the easiest for my old knees to get on and off of the seat. But aside from that, it slides effortlessly on the rail and it’s really fun to slide back and forth on it. As my legs are pushing and pulling, I can really feel the burn in my quads, hamstrings, and calves. My legs felt shaky like jello after a long session on this! What a workout! For the arms, I can adjust the tension on the pulling motion and I can really feel my whole torso working – my stomach, back, and arms are all thoroughly engaged. I feel like this is an amazing workout for practically my whole body and it’s enjoyable enough that I could do it every day! When I’m not using it, it’s also easy to pull a few pins and fold it in half to store in a smaller footprint. This is an awesome product for a first-time rowing machine owner!

As someone who hasn’t been big into health and fitness and really is just trying to be a little more active, I ordered this to have an option for an at home workout that’s simple and easy. Both my husband and I have been using it for a couple weeks now. Not being big into fitness prior to this, I don’t have a lot of experience using hydraulic rowers, so I don’t really have a basis for comparison with this one, but I will say that for me, it seems to do what it’s supposed to do. It has adjustable tension and while it feels like a fairly easy exercise, even on a higher tension, I can feel it slowly working all kinds of muscles in my arms, sides and back. The only issue we’ve had was that about a week into using it daily, we found a puddle of hydraulic fluid underneath it one morning. Luckily for us, we have this in our unfinished basement, so the puddle didn’t cause any damage and the rower seems to still be working. But I would recommend putting a mat or something else under it to protect your floors just in case.

I have been trying to find exercise equipment that will fit in our small space, is fun to use, can be used in different ways to target different muscles, and can fold up easily to be stored out of the way when not in use. This rowing machine is exactly what I was looking for, and so much more! This is so beyond simple to put together, is a compact size, AND gives you a lot of bang for your buck with powerhouse workout it offers. The handle can be held in 3 different ways with comfortable gripping points to help you to work different muscles. You can also use this for sit ups, but I love just using it for a rowing machine to target my shoulder muscles. This rower is so super portable, with easy roll casters to wheel it effortlessly. There are different height adjustments, and the seat can be also be moved, so everyone in our family (who range from 5’8” to 6’4”) can be comfortable during their workout. I definitely recommend the SPORTNEER rowing machine if you are looking for a great workout for any home gym, and especially if you have limited space like I do. Love it. Definitely get this, if you have been looking for a machine that will help you keep your New Year’s Resolutions, all year round!
