I do be hearing a lot of hate on splat but its the only one that will actually go and stay on my hair. It takes a while for it to fade and even when it does it turns into a pretty color. I have used splat many times for years. Yes I know it stains absolutely everything but I want it to stay for a while so it works for me. However, I used the Midnight Pink Sapphire because I wanted to brighten up some faded Pink fetish I had in my hair. My hair was already a pinky red but had faded in areas to a very pale orange which I wanted to cover. This color didn’t stick at all not even to the lightest parts. I know this was supposed to be for dark hair but that’s why I thought it would stick. I left it on for my usual hour and nada. This is the first time I’ve used splat and it didn’t stick at all. Like it didn’t even stain my white tub or sink which never happens. When you use splat you know the mess you sign up for but this didn’t. The consistency was like cheap watery conditioner even though I shook it again and again. Very disappointed and won’t be buying this shade again. I liked the color, looked very similar to the box. However, it washed out almost immediately within a week. It bled a lot and didn't really stay in my hair. It was a pain to wash out too. The run off never stopped until all the color was gone which was disappointing. Even with warmer showers I've not had such bad luck with hair dye before. As someone who decided to for the first time use purple and pick the brand myself I was pleased to see i was not disappointed. I dyed my hair in time for homecoming and fell in love with how in darker lighting it made my features scream elegance( in a way). I also enjoyed seeing that in sunlight the purple flares well. For a reference I have a lot darker hair than I wish and it was nice to see the dye instead of not working perfectly mixed and made a beautiful purplish tint.
